San Marzano tomatoes grow in the volcanic soil of Mount Vesuvius. Probably the least acidic tomatoes I have ever tried.

Expensive, but worth it, IMHO.

Oh I use them for the sauce, non-starter to use anything else. I'm talking about the paste, which is usually made from romas. Contadina, delallo, cento, etc all use romas. Haven't been able to find anything that uses DOP SM's or even non-appelated ones.

It's time to start holding the unvaccinated responsible by denying them medical care or making them pay for the medical care they are getting. They are taking up beds from people who actually need them, like cancer patients.

Not sure you can deny them admittance... what I'd do is make a whole section in the parking lot and shove all the anti-vaxx idiots who get sick with COVID in there and let volunteers care for them. Hospitals should be for people who aren't actively trying to kill themselves and everyone else around them. They need to be treated like suicide bombers.

I like this plan too. They deny care to the Uninsured, why not the Unvaccinated?

She has the right fit of intelligence (lack of) + sense of privilege to purposely break the law to travel to Hawaii.  She must be Trumpy. -_-

Texas school system closes after 2 teachers die of COVID-19

The school has had 51 confirmed COVID-19 cases since classes began Aug. 18

I can't believe the liberal media cares more about reporting COVID hoax news than covering Afghanistan.

The rolling seven-day average of new daily COVID-19 cases in Texas was 15,400 cases as of Sunday, according to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The rolling seven-day average of daily COVID-19 deaths in Texas was 200 per day.

Only 200 dead per day in Texas. Kung flu.

Except the cancer patients that have lung cancer from smoking - they don't get care either, right?

And the morbidly obese with heart disease - they don't get a bed either.

That sounds fine to me

This as well

A non vaxxed surcharge is probably a lot less cruel though. That's what I think they should do.

Well, when hospital beds are near 100% capacity from lung cancer patients, who were smokers, we will consider it. But until that happens, the Unvaccinated should not be permitted to take up beds in hospitals.

This Canuck dewshberry peed on the counter of a Dairy Queen over their mask policy.

An unmasked Canadian man was so peed-off about a Dairy Queen‘s face covering mandate that he relieved himself on the counter of the fast food restaurant, footage posted on Facebook showed.

The peevish customer argued with staff about British Columbia’s mask policy before unzipping his pants and defiling the DQ service counter as the staff shrieked in horror, footage showed.

"It’s not a BC policy. BC policy says you have to observe exemptions,” the dribbling dissenter said in the video before apparently taking matters into his own hands.

"F—ing psychopaths,” he exclaimed before walking out of the store.

Where are you getting that they are near 100% from COVID patients?

Florida is around 50 percent for ICU covid patients last I read. Not half, but still a huge strain. Should any type of natural disaster or something else that can tax their hospital systems happen now...a lot of people are going to suffer and die.

I get it - I think the CNN article that Toaster posted yesterday was a bit misleading - there are states that are at less than 10% of ICU beds available, but if you dig a little deeper, only about half of that 90% capacity is due to COVID.  The point does remain, however - those beds could be used for other Floridians.  The kind that take bath salts and try to F an alligator and get mauled - that kind of stuff

Or maybe a large, violent storm? Or a fairly large building randomly collapses? Naahhhhhhh, what are the odds any of that could happen?

The article says only 10% of beds left. It does not say there are only COVID patients.

It says the hospitals are becoming OVERWHELMED with COVID patients, which seems to be true.

"So, in essence, our hospitals are full," Carol Burrell said. "We're looking to add space in hallways and conference rooms in waiting areas. Our emergency rooms and our urgent care centers are seeing higher volume than they've seen throughout this pandemic," she said.

Gee. Sounds overwhelming.

Day 2 of school…..another positive case.  This kid was not in school today.  Yesterday’s case was a kid that was at a before school care program along with more than a dozen others.

I'm not looking forward to dealing with this for the next 3+ months until my kids can get vaccinated.

I think it’s inevitable that schools will be shut down and we all go remote again.  By Christmas if not sooner.
