Mr Mureddu, a former Italian soldier, carried out the "rescue” with assistance from members of the Common Law Information Centre in nearby Ballybofey. The group promotes a bizarre interpretation of the law which states legislation only apply to people if they consent to it.

Common law groups came to prominence during the recession when homeowners facing bank repossessions were encouraged to frustrate the court process using tactics such as not recognising the court and attempting to perform citizens’ arrests on judges.

In one video published after Mr McCarron left the hospital, Mr Mureddu and Michael McGee of the Common Law Information Centre advise followers to use baseless common law tactics and documents to carry out similar actions in other hospitals.

Sounds a bit like what that crazy bish Pauline Bauer from PA, the pizzeria owner who claimed courts had no jurisdiction over her.

You would think these kinds of things would make people appreciate America more... All it does though is make people freak out even more, with thoughts that this the direction America is headed.

I mean, this level of police brutality has been happening here basically forever. It's horrible just the same. But the people getting choked here are usually of a different skin color though, so I guess that might affect how these types of incidents are perceived. The usual refrain of, "well he shouldn't have been resisting arrest!" is conspicuously absent this time around though.

I meant the force Australia is using over covid. Not police brutality, I know that's a thing here.

Or was this not because she wasn't wearing a mask?

Unjustified use of force is the common denominator. The differences are skin color and reasons for resisting what is presumably an attempt to detain the person. We don't know what happened prior to the video, but if it's for simply not wearing a mask, it's obviously horribly excessive. Then again, she presumably lived to tell her side of the story which was not something afforded to a black guy suspected of selling cigarettes.

Ahh ok I get you now.

I was just eluding to the fact that other countries like Australia are ridiculous compared to us when it comes to masks and lockdowns and we will still have people losing their minds here when it can be and is a lot worse everywhere else. As far as covid goes,

I wasn't really looking at it as a police and race thing that's for the George Floyd thread.

Bad things are bad things. There is zero reason a man who has at least a full foot on a woman and at least 70+ pounds needs to choke her that way. I don't know what kind of training they receive down there, but there are tons of other submissions he could have used to quickly get her under control. Poor training or poor temperament.

Probably both. I'd have to imagine choke holds are not part of their training but who knows.

The only case I could see where something like that might happen here is if an antimasker was getting belligerent on a plane.

Yeah, at least not from the front where you are vulnerable. Some arts call that a "gift" because both his hands are occupied.

It's what happens when you put innocent people under limited house arrest for an inordinate period of time.  This is a direct consequence of lockdowns.  It's a draconian measure that's been used abusively down there.

After hydroxychloroquine, uv light, bleach shots and horse dewormer, you have not run the gamut of possible treatments.

Know a health nut that dilutes it and drinks every day.  Tried talking me into trying it.  Told he was nuts.

I recall a health nut in Chestnut Hill or some place like that - drank carrot juice every day.

Blew out his liver and died.
