I assume the difference is due to the Delta variant being so much more easily communicable than the original strain. I also think the numbers he stated were where he hopes to be not necessarily where we need to be.
September 28, 20214 yr The Delta variant isn't that big of a deal to the vaccinated. So for those of us who got vaccinated, to help get us closer, the question still remains. When will everything be over? Should the goalposts on the number of people not vaccinated yet move around more and more? If the experts are not too sure, are they in a position to make decisions then? I think part of the issue with getting people vaccinated is that everyone knows that something said now will be deemed irrelevant in a couple months, and people can see the goalposts moving all the time. These leaders need to figure out what actually needs to be done and stick with the message. People will pick up on the conviction and confidence in the message, and people on the fence will get on board. But continuously changing the message exasperates the problem of getting in touch with people hesitant with getting vaccinated.
