You know what's very likely to have long-term side effects? Catching a disease that attacks the pulmonary system in such a way that hospitalization is common. Far more common than even short term side effects of a well tested vaccine.

But continue to bathe in ignorance. I have better things to do with my time, need to pay taxes to support the dimwits in this thread.

We get it - people get the flu.  It's understandable.  All I'm saying is that if you'd been triple masking like a good little ishlib, you probably wouldn't have gotten sick.  Just know that Tony Fauci is highly disappointed in you.

A year and a half later, and not only do you still not know why or how masks help, but you willfully display your ignorance every chance you get.

At some point, my sympathy for people like procus will begin waning. I initially tried in earnest to help people like him understand the risks they are exposing themselves to because of their political loyalty but it has fallen on deaf ears. I recall back to a time when Iron Eagle said he would pack up his things and uproot his family to another country if Clinton beat Trump. He was serious, and I understood that. I tried to tell him how dangerous his level of fanaticism was to himself and others but it was pointless. I had interacted with him on the EMB for almost two decades. He was a good guy that let an unchecked illness take over his soul and all that was left was a rotting shell of what he once was. I see this same pattern in people like zuke, pffb, and others. The real virus infected them a long time ago and unfortunately their immune system was never up to the task.

You don't get it.  The problem is not the vax per se.  The problem is the way the entire reaction to this virus is being rolled out.  If you don't see how our world has been turned upside down by all of this - upside down primarily due to government reaction - you are blind.

Dude - you're not scoring points with the insults.  We all hope you are correct.  Nobody wants long term side effects lingering in billions of people.  But we don't know yet.  You are not an expert on these vaccines nor am I.

That hasn't stopped you from spreading misinformation about the vaccines. Nor has it resulted in you listening to the vast majority of experts, instead focusing your attention on a small minority of "medical health professionals" (quacks) who support your pre-existing biases.

Oh wow, your patience with the dude you constantly name-call and berate is waning? What are you going to do to him when it wears out completely? Let me guess, name-call and berate him? That'll show him.

This literal shrimp dweeb has such an insanely high opinion of his message board persona. It's effing hilarious.

If you actually read and understood my post, you'd see that I already stated the problem is not the vax or the virus. The problem is much deeper than that.

Yeah, masks are such a foreign concept that only big-brains like you can possibly comprehend the science behind them.

Basic grammar, nah, that eludes you. The super-complicated science behind masks? Oh yeah, you're all over it.

No doubt long term effects of Covid are significant.  No dispute there.

Here's a huge problem John - you watch the TV, read the MSM, the mantra is vax, vax, vax.  Okay, fine.  Nothing wrong with that per se.  But the average Joe is clueless on what to do if he or she gets sick and contracts this - and you can get very ill even if you're vaxxed.  And then, you people start ridiculing treatments which have been effective and are low cost.  Moronic.  None of you people has an answer to what happend in Uttar Pradesh, India.  Nobody!!!

I do credit you for being against what is happening in Australia.  If you cannot see that we are headed down that path, your eyes are closed.

Tried implies past tense. I already gave up trying to help him. And I also said sympathy, not patience. Don't get too down on yourself though, reading is something you can get better at if you practice for at least 15 minutes every night. Start with books appropriate for your reading level and then slowly work your way up.

Neither is complicated.

But keep grabbing that low hanging fruit. At this point it's pretty obvious it is all you have access to these days.

I think we are well past lockdowns and shutdowns in this country. To continue to hear threats of it make me crazy.    And I agree we are still suffering the economic impacts from it.  Globally

I would actually like to hear some legitimate theories about how India's most populous state pretty much eradicated Covid during the near peak of the country's second wave. Also funny to be lectured about letting your politics shape your medical opinions by people who reflexively call a nobel prize winning drug "horse paste" because the media and their political party tells them to.

Go read up on Uttar Pradesh in India and get back to me.

When hospitals and pharmacies start withholding treatments prescribed by doctors that are low cost and low profit for Big Pharm but could be life saving, that's a big problem.

People already hit you on this subject yesterday. If we're going to repeat that, I'll just repeat my initial post to you...why is it easier for you to believe in a vast government conspiracy to extend a costly and deadly pandemic than to just believe that you're wrong? Our oligarchs in various industries were happily making money pre-pandemic...your belief is, they're continuing the pandemic and its economic instability to, uh, make more money?

I just have to scavenge for simple grammatical errors while intellectual titans such as yourself explain the complexities of how cloth masks work. It's a tough life, I'll admit. At least I have your dog-faced wife to comfort me.

Yes, Australia has taken an overly draconian approach that is clearly excessive in many ways. Even less egregious measures like curfews are stupid and I've been vocal against them since the beginning. But no, we are not headed down that path. In fact, I live in a state where a republican legislature is trying every trick in the book to strip local health departments of their authority to impose mask mandates. We're going in the opposite direction of Australia.

I missed it, can you quote the explanation?

What good will they do anyway when you have folks like the boogyman ignoring them?  I mean the flu was pretty much eradicated last year - who knows how many people have been single-handedly infected by him and his family's careless decisions?  :nonono:

How dirty and disgusting do you have to be to catch the effing flu in the year 2021.

Not only is he stupid, he's a pig.

In many if not most courts around the country, zoom hearings have replaced hearings in person - that's actually a good thing.  In the Northern District of Illinois where Chicago is located, they still aren't scheduling trials.  I just got a notice from the bankruptcy court in Miami that they're resuming in person filings for pro se litigatants November 1 after a hiatus of the better part of 2 years.  The disruptions remain significant.  And as you correctly noted, the economic impact is being felt globally.  Anybody who fails to see a ripple effect from that - including long term effects to physical and mental health - has their eyes closed.
