October 6, 20214 yr Historic go-ahead for malaria vaccine to protect African children https://www.bbc.com/news/health-58810551 A little good news, if you go for that sort of thing.

But have you gotten the anti-vax crowd's opinion on this? "You can still get Malaria even if you're vaccinated!" "Bill Gates funded this!" "This is just a scam to line the pockets of Big Pharma!" "Wow wow wow wow"

October 7, 20214 yr Saw a 2019 cspan2 video of Fauci and "health experts" discussing a "theoretical" novel outbreak from China. It was linked to an infowars broadcast of all places but now I'm looking for cspan's broadcast because its really coincidental and damning. Michael Specter: Why don’t we blow the system up? I mean obviously, we can’t just turn off the spigot on the system. We have and then say, hey everyone in the world should get this new vaccine that we haven’t given to anyone yet. But there must be some way that we grow vaccines mostly in eggs the way we did in 1947. Fauci: In order to make the transition from getting out of the tried-and-true egg growing which we know gives us results that can be beneficial, I mean we’ve done well with that. There must be something that has to be much better. You have to prove that this works and then you’ve got to go through all of the clinical trials: phase 1, phase 2, phase 3, and then show that this particular product is going to be good over a period of years. That alone, if it works perfectly, it’s going to take a decade. Bright: There might be a need or even an urgent call for an entity of excitement out there that’s completely disruptive, that’s not beholden to bureaucratic strings and processes. Fauci: So we really do have a problem of how the world perceives influenza and it’s going to be very difficult to change that unless you do it from within and say, I don’t care what your perception is, we’re going to address the problem in a disruptive and in an iterative way because she does need both. Bright: But it is not too crazy to think that an outbreak of novel avian virus could occur in China somewhere. We could get the RNA sequence from that.. to a number of regional centers if not local, if not even in your home at some point, and print those vaccines on a patch of self-administer.
October 7, 20214 yr On other news..... Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., was caught on camera saying she was only wearing a mask because she was being tailed by a "Republican tracker." 😒

The worrying part of that graph is that we haven't yet hit the winter. If you are comparing it on a seasonal basis, we are much higher than we were in 2020. We hit a local high in the spring of 2020 which dissipated as the lockdowns took effect. Spiked a bit in the summer as people ventured outside, then exploded during the winter. Well, we have the Delta variant and death rate in September and early October is comparable with November of last year. It hasn't even gotten cold yet in the NE and Mid Atlantic where we have the greatest population density.
October 7, 20214 yr We'll probably have a late winter / early spring surge. Delta spreads fast enough to burn itself out quicker leaving fewer pockets than alpha or classic did that are still vulnerable. Then it takes a bit of sprouting before it finds new pockets after a few months. Boosters should help to act as a backstop in the more at risk populations in the meantime. Hopefully by end of October, we're getting shots in kids arms, then by end of November, the FDA approves boosters broadly for anyone over 18. Any missteps along the way could prove costly though.
October 7, 20214 yr I see an unprecidented rise in cancer cases over the next 10 years. Write that down.
October 7, 20214 yr Trumpbots will continue to prove they have been suffering from life-long brain damage. Write that down.
October 7, 20214 yr "Willing to lose my life for this cause." When we say it's a death cult, this is what we mean. A stone's throw away from the same ideological insanity of ISIS if you ask me.
October 7, 20214 yr Now official, an hour ago Pfizer formally requested an EUA for vaccinating 5-11 year olds. Just gotta hope the FDA doesn't let us down.
