Unless he’d except something like $20m per year, I honestly don’t have much interest. Rather try to lure Beal or Lavine with the cap space.

Problem is have to convince Lavine or beal to come here. And there can’t be other options they want as much with better trade assets for the bulls in a sign and trade. For instance if you want Lavine (the best offer) the sixers would be willing to package to match salary in a sign and trade and give Chicago would be Harris, thybulle and picks. If there’s a team Lavine is willing to go to that has better assets than that then the bulls are going to trade him there and Lavine is fine with that.

"I feel great," Rivers told the media on Thursday. "I would rather not be down 0-2, but should I feel bad? We lost two games. You watch that film last night, we played hard. Our guys competed. Anybody that has a problem with that then there's something wrong with them."

Seriously..... F this guy.....

Such a loser mentality. The fact that he ever won a title says a whole lot about how stacked that Boston team was.

[Neubeck] If they're going to triple team Harden and the open guy is just going to miss threes, there are few paths to victory here

Our local paper, The Greensboro News & Record, was openly hoping that we flame out in the 2nd round so that we fire Doc so that Jordan can hire him to coach the Hornets.  Seriously.

We’d have been better off with Drummond at center, Curry at SG and Maxey at PG right now than this current lineup. Can we undo the trade real quick and get Curry and Drum on a plane?

Or if we could have included Thybulle in the trade instead of Seth that would have been big.

Lol

It was obvious from the moment that Kawhi Leonard shot fell that the result of the process (which I supported, FWIW) was not going to produce a champion, but would provide an entertaining and competitive basketball team.

The 76ers are not going to win a title with this foundation or Embiid.  /story.

But...for whatever it's worth, the disappointingly early exit in these playoffs will help them next year.  Harden ain't getting a max deal.  Not happening.  He knows it.  His Nets failure combined with these playoffs just might cause him to dedicate himself to his body this offseason, come crawling back to the 76ers, and actually give the 2023 roster a better and cheaper than expected Harden.

If Embiid gets the stupid MVP award out of the way, then they can go back to aggressive load management for the glass giant.  He'll still be hurt by the end of the playoff run, but they'll have him healthier longer.

It won't result in a title, but it might get them through round 2 next year.

Sort of remarkable that the trade ended up being Curry/Drummond for Harden and it's close to a tie.

How many games did Curry play for the Nets before his season ending injury?

It wasn't season ending, he missed 7 out of 25 games came back for the last 2 out of 3 and played in the playoffs.

That seems about right.  The market will dictate what he makes in the upcoming years but he’s become (and I’m sure he realizes it) a 2nd - 3rd piece in an offense.

Hindsight 20/20 - we should have kept Drummond.

You’re right, my mistake. Had a couple of pretty good games in the playoffs too.

I dont think its true that Harden is going to take less here.  Seems like a re-hashing of old reports. Which turned out to be misled by him not opting in to his deal.

That rumor started really soon after the trade when Harden did not opt in to his big player option. Reporters jumped on that saying he might take less so help the team. But the truth came out that he actually DID opt in. However, the paperwork was not filed in time. The deadline passed, and he didnt get to opt in. But he certainly intended to, and tried.

There has been no indication that he is trying to take less. Im not sure why its being said again now.

Of course Doc is happy he is down 0-2. There is no chance of him choking another 3-1 lead.

Sounds like he might just take the plyer option and try to earn the big contract. I hope so anyway.

[Derek Bodner] (Re: Gargano's MVP Tweet) Not to be *that guy*, but the award is announced on a TNT broadcast and tonight is an ESPN game. Besides the fact that most voters have publicly revealed who they're voting for and it's not looking good for Embiid, it's not happening tonight.
