I have said it for years. Ben and Joel will never win a ring together because Ben refuses to shot amd limits Joel's ability to dominate. We saw with a bunch of rookies yesterday what Joel is capable.

the trade rumors we saw was just houston probably trying to get MORE out of the nets cause they kept leaking what the "sixers were offering/countering".  from the guy's own words, ben and joel are going to be here a long time.  i don't think he ever entertained a simmons trade as he's been building around ben and joel.

our roster construction is currently shooters around ben and joel, with a better bench than the last time ben and joel were surrounded by shooters -- a roster which was one of the best in the league if not the best (at the time).  i'm excited to see where this team goes, no matter how down people are on ben and think he won't work.  i trust morey.

If I try to go buy a lamborgini and realize it costs too much, it doesnt mean I think my Kia Optima is a better car. It simply means that it was too expensive to buy the lambo. But I WANTED to get rid of my optima. 

Morey WANTED to trade for Harden. He didnt decide Ben is better. He decided Harden was too expensive.

i trust morey.  he wants ben and joel here a long time...  let's see what he does with them.  again, i think trade rumors surrounding ben are just teams trying to get more out of another team linked to a player.  other teams know ben is a superstar and they have to up their offers if they want to match a trade that includes simmons.

Do you remember Sam Bradford? We knew he was Garbage but not every team did yet. Eagles paid a hefty price for him. And then found out he was garbage. But still, not every team did yet. So we were able to trade him for solid value too. 

People are stupid, and think Ben is good. We need to capitalize before everyone realizes.

thats damaging for Doc in my book. Hes been looking like an idiot every time he sticks up for Simmons from day 1. If he stopped this trade, and its true that Maxey wasnt even discussed, then Im ok with firing Doc now. Jorger and Cassell are on staff. We will be fine.

Go re-watch how the Heat played him yesterday and that is what he will get the rest of the season.

I think morey would trade Ben Simmons if the right deal came along. I don’t think the James Larden was the right deal at that price. First what the Nets gave up in that deal was absolutely ridiculous. I get he is a fantastic player but he has at most three years left at the level he is a custom to playing up. And I tend to believe three years would be pushing it because he came into this season looking like Shamu in some of those rocket uniforms. When you get into your 30s you better take better care of your body because you’re not gonna last at the level you wanna play at unless you are training hard and making sure your body is your temple. The reason why LeBron James is able to play at the same level or close to the same level into his mid-30s and now going into his late 30s is because he takes care of his body.

You can say well he didn’t want to be with the Rockets that to me is even worse.  So when the team starts declining he’s just going to give up and not take care of himself. You’re gonna have to give him an extension before the end of his contract otherwise he’s going to piss and moan. So not only didn’t take care of himself this off-season so he’s going to do it two years down the road when you have to extend him and he’s gonna want to max? I wouldn’t woukdnt touch that extension. 

I’m not against trading Ben Simmons. I’m against it for a 31-year-old even if he’s great who doesn’t think he needs to take better care of his body in his 30s and comes into the season looking the way that he does. You can say well he still played well. Well last four games he’s only averaged less than 20 points game. You can say gave up wanting to being there or it could also be he’s just husky and out of shape and it’s affecting him after a couple of weeks. 

Harden only played for the Rockets this year in good faith. They sent him home the other day because he was a distraction and he wanted to get his Houston strip club wings in before getting traded. 

He will be in shape by mid February

You take a GM's words at face value when he is in trade negotiations.

True however he came into the rockets looking like Jason peters Jr. and out of shape. And you’re gonna have to give him a max extension in two years. Are you comfortable giving a 33 year old Larden a max at that point? I am not. And you know he’s gonna be unhappy and pissed off if you don’t and play this out the same way he did with the Rockets. So really your window is this year and next year. Year 3 he’s going to be upset and angry about his contract and the sixers likely not wanting to max contract a 33 year old

This is them managing the relationship between Doc and a player he has to coach after almost trading him. The veracity of the statement is largely irrelevant.
