I still love Lonzo Ball as a Ben replacement but he would be the finishing touch.  Doubt we can get him after the main trades we make.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are not expected to extend a qualifying offer to center Tony Bradley, League Sources tell The Athletic, making him an unrestricted free agent. Bradley, a former Jazz, is expected to have multiple teams interested in him on the open market

So which player and picks are they going to package with CJ to make their team a lot better?  Not better, but a lot better.  That is what Dame is looking for.  My point is, they don't have the assets to bring back someone that is going to make them contenders.

Yes I know.

I originally said CJ won't get moved until Dame does and you were saying he was the only asset they had to make a trade.

Yes currently CJ is the only asset they have to make any changes to the team of any significance. Unfortunately those changes he could bring won't be good enough to make the blazers a contender. Unless they think Ben can make a difference with his defense to help Dame the blazers are screwed.

I don't think he helps them at all with Dame still as the ball dominant guard. Ben just stands around without the ball in his hands and will be worse with them.

Yes, I know which is why no trade to be made with the blazers. Blazers have nothing to trade that can help and no money.

Draymond with a tribute to Ben Simmons at the Olympics

I will guess Raptors/Simmons deal is best chance. Love this quote from Suggs, the total opposite of Ben

"I will say the ones that do pass up on me and take another prospect, you know, it'll come back, it'd be to their detriment," Suggs said Tuesday. "You can look at my track record and what I've done and where I've been, you know, it's always win at a high level, at the highest level."

His pass at around the 35 second mark is Magic Johnson-like

What would a fair deal for both sides look like?  Ben, Shake and #28 for FVV and # 4 (whatever fillers to match salaries)?

In a year where there may not be any major free-agency fireworks, much of the focus remains on the stars who may be on the move via trade.

Yet while Portland’s Damian Lillard and Washington’s Bradley Beal both appear to be in their respective holding patterns when it comes to possibly requesting a trade, it’s looking increasingly likely that Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons will be on the move. One source close to the situation handicapped Miami, Toronto and Washington as the most likely landing spots. The Wizards scenario, of course, would only take place if Beal wound up deciding that it was time for a new chapter outside of the nation’s capital. The moving parts, as you can see, are sometimes part of the same puzzle.

The Heat? Return doesn't fit at all unless is Jimmy

Hope it isn't Miami.  They don't have much to offer.

Even if it is, he doesn't take us to championship level.  I hope it isn't him or Miami at all.

The return from Miami would be terrible unless it is a 3 or 4 team trade but I would love to watch Simmons get yelled at by Butler every game 😂

heat are also rumored to be interested in lowry...along with the knicks, pels, & mavs.

Could be a 3 team trade with us, Miami and Toronto.  Miami will get Lowry, Toronto will get Simmons and who knows what we will get.

Porzingis and Lowry gonna fight for the two worst contracts on that team. Luka gonna be thrilled.

Yeah i don’t get how the heat expect Butler and Simmons to work together when supposedly Butler disliked Ben here. Unless that was a bunch of Bs. Plus Miami if it’s not Butler, Miami only has Herro who came back down to earth after getting out of the bubble.

considering Miami is in on Lowry it would make more sense if Miami was trying to get involved in a three way deal to acquire westbrook from the wizards, beal to the sixers and Simmons to the wizards. However i highly doubt pat riley wants westbrook at this stage.

Miami popping up as even a remotely possible destination for Ben is kind of shocking.  I don’t see that unless maybe Joel and Butler are pushing to reunite. Seems terribly unlikely.

IDK if its so unlikely from our (Moreys) side: https://spacecityscoop.com/2018/10/26/houston-rockets-jimmy-butler-draft-picks/

Alas, ESPN’s Marc Spears indicated that a Russell Westbrook sign-and-trade with Washington could be a possibility, and Charania indicated that a Buddy Hield deal might be in the works with Sacramento. Of all the scenarios for a supporting player believed to be in play, one source to the situation indicated the Hield deal — which would involve forward Kyle Kuzma and would also likely require Lakers forward Montrezl Harrell to opt in to the final year of his deal (worth $9.7 million) and be included — appears the most promising thus far.

For the Kings, Kuzma (three years, $39 million combined on his deal) and Harrell ($9.7 million next season if he opts in) could fit in well on the roster that is now being built around De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton. A source with knowledge of the talks said Philadelphia also has shown interest (unrelated to Simmons), with other teams believed to be engaged on that front as well. A Hield deal of some sort, it seems, is likely on the horizon.

For the Lakers, adding an elite 3-point shooter like Hield on a long-term deal (three years, $63 million remaining) would be significant considering their struggles on that front last season. The Lakers ranked 25th in made 3s per game (11.1), were 24th in attempts (31.2) and 21st in 3-point percentage (35.4). Hield was third in the NBA in 3s per game (four) behind Steph Curry and Damian Lillard and third in attempts (10.2, also behind Curry and Lillard).
