blazers would also get #28.

and  at roco being listed as a center.

This is exactly the type of trade I would be upset with today.  As Daeagles said, this can most likely still get done in a month.

and when dame & beal don't ask to be traded, then what?

Then you move on. It’s not like any of the deals they are actually getting are giving them high draft picks. The raptors probably laugh at even giving up 4 for Simmons. So what difference does it really make to get done tonight if they aren’t getting high valued draft picks back?

The you take the crap CJ deal or hope Ingram wants to be moved.

Then Simmons will be the only big name left after the draft picks and free agents/trades are done.  They will have more leverage for some players then.

move on to what?

i'm not saying it has to happen tonight...but a major trade like this would impact how teams approach the rest of their offseason. imo, the longer they wait....the more chance they'll be stuck with him going into the season...which would be a disaster.

This may be wishful thinking but I hope he has an offer he is willing to accept from one team and is seeing if he can get someone to bite on topping it before finalizing that deal.  Again, that's an optimistic view but now that the leaks are coming from both sides, not just from the other teams, I have to think the Sixers wouldn't be talking about hoping to complete a deal today unless they have something they are OK with.

That said, they need to get this right in the worst way.  If they blow a deal for Ben without adding quality pieces around Joel, you are looking at another rebuild including moving Joel.

It's not great fan relations so see the exorbitant asking price and look like they settled for something a lot less.

Theres still going to be teams who are willing to give up what they offered to the sixers prior to today. I don’t think Indiana all the sudden if the sixers offered what supposedly they did for Simmons would just be like can’t do that now. I think this it has to happen now is a fans i don’t like Simmons and just want to rush a trade cause i want him gone.

Just saying what if the sixers deal Simmons tonight then after the Olympics lillard comes back and says i want out of Portland. So now you are out on that cause you rushed to trading him. If the sixers just wanted picks and nothing else it would make sense to do it. I think it morey is doing all this to give himself more time before dealing him by asking for what he is. Otherwise he’s just crazy for asking for what he is. He really isn’t the guy who’s been off his rocker in Houston

The smart fans will understand why he did it.

You hope the deal gets done tonight. The sooner the better and once a team gets these rookies in the door they might not want to trade him.

Or fans who think they were smart.

Idk about that listened to jake Fischer of bleacher report talk on the radio yesterday made more compelling points for the sixers waiting it out rather than rushing to get a trade done.

If you are good at negotiating, you start high and then come down.  Make sure you send your wife to buy your next car.

Mark Medina on twitter

"With the Sixers fielding lots of calls about Ben Simmons in a possible deal, the Sixers are looking either for an A-list guy in return or a starting caliber player along with multiple draft picks. Not clear which route is most likely."

My counter would be do you want Ben in a Sixers uniform even for one game this year?

You think Sixers fans will golf clap him everytime he makes a dope play? I think crap could get ugly quickly and then he demands a trade and Sixers lose leverage.

Danny Green tried to tell the fans that Ben is under pressure, is trying, and don't boo him. Fans mostly responded with, shut the F up Danny and Ben is a soft ****.

This isn't Houston where the fans didn't give a F and Morey was a God to them. The city will spit out Doc and Morey just like everyone else that doesn't get it done.

ben is gone.

the coach is sick of him...and embiid is sick of  him.  have you noticed how quiet jojo has been on social media?  he's laying low until ben is traded. they all know he's being dealt.

They need to make shooting ranges with Bens face as the bulleye.  Axe throwing, same thing.  Bowling lanes, Bens face on the head pin.  I fn hate this dude so much.

My picks beside the Beal, Lillard

SGA

Haliburton, Buddy

Murray, Lonnie Walker or Keldon Johnson

Ingram and Ball in Sign and Trade

FVV, 4th pick

LaVine, Coby White (Meh)

Frankly you are saying things i don’t disagree with. However i also don’t think morey gives a rats ass about what fans are thinking. I’m guessing the meetings with rich Paul in Chicago already indicated he likely wanted out. I don’t think you meet with his agents and guys to just be like ya we aren’t trading you or his guys telling the sixers he wanted out

That said just cause they don’t trade him tonight doesn’t mean they can’t trade him before the end of the offseason. I think it’s the draft some people tend to throw out a ton of rumors cause they can get away with it cause it’s believable cause it’s the nba draft kind of like the nfl draft you here a bunch of them. I’m guessing there be a bunch right as FA begins on august 6

i tend to think morey is waiting to see how the lillard situation unfolds after the opening of free agency. That could get ugly real fast if lillard truly believes that that team they have isn’t constructed to win a title and the general manager doesn’t do very much

Jason Dumas: Source: The Sixers hope to trade Ben Simmons tonight. The asking price remains the same. The relationship seems to be over. It’s not a matter of if anymore, but when. – via Twitter

I will guarantee they’ll be another report at some point today if he’s not traded saying well they hope to trade them today but they are also willing to wait until they get something they want or view as the value for Ben Simmons. I guarantee you that tweet is coming at some point today if he’s still on the sixers at the end of the night

The longer Ben is here,  the more teams know we want him gone,  the less leverage we have.

If the season begins,  ben does not improve and his value decreases even more.

There is nothing good to come from holding him beyond tonight.

You are forgetting the biggest factor.  His annual summer hype video!
