Regarding the Harden thing....

He can opt out after this season, as he has a player option

I think if crap really hits the fan in Brooklyn this year, they might want to get something for him before he opts out

Warriors, NY teams and LA teams would be out on Ben as long as he is unvaccinated. Why would the Nets trade for him when they have the same issues with Kyrie?

Kind of think the nets will be just fine with harden and KD. They did a good job building that roster up with depth compared to last year. Frankly i still believe they really only need harden and Kd and should trade kyrie simply to get 2-3 players to build up that roster around them. I felt that way last year. Purely Hypothetical and I’m randomly choosing a team, if the nets traded kyrie to the pacers for brogdon, levert and Torrey Craig along with picks. The nets would get 2 quality players and bench player. Might ultimately make them much deeper and able to make it through the regular season easier.

He would not have been able to go to Wimbledon with his girlfriend is he wasn't. UK requires it to enter the country.

I wonder if he can get in without proof of vaccination if he uses an Australian passport.

At least TO and McNabb got out of the second round of the playoffs.

Harden and KD are two of the best eight basketball players in the world and if Harden continues his playmaking like he did last year then will quickly forget who Kyrie.

Comparing TO to Ben is straight up disrespectful.  One worked hard on his craft, loved the game, was fearless and was elite at his position.  The only thing similar is that they are both difficult and are headaches as teammates.  You could compare them if TO had refused to catch the ball.  "But do you see how fast he is and his ability to run routes, he doesn't need to catch", said Doc Rivers.

McNabb got past the divisional round and conference championship game without TO, to be fair.

And why would the Pacers ever do that?

Kyire has basically zero trade value at this point. You can't count on him to show up.

My point was more just hypothetical i think they would be better off if they dealt kyrie (to begin with) and got 2-3 players. Can’t do it now. However i think they should’ve done some trade like that last year. I think i even brought that up at that time they should’ve done it.

While true, they’re way past that point now. Kyrie has negative trade value.

If I was the Spurs I would trade for him. Spurs are garbage with no star power.

I got high last night and listened to him talking on IG last night. It came off that he wasn't anti vax but more stupidly trying to be a voice for people that aren't giving the same freedoms. I could see him getting the shot soon.

well, this is all working out nicely.

Well Mcnabb did. TO just showed up at the end.

[Paul Hudrick] Doc Rivers said Tobias Harris, Shake Milton and Matisse Thybulle will not travel to Detroit. Said if it were the playoffs, Harris and Thybulle would play. Mentioned Tyrese Maxey is healthy and had a great practice.

I guess Isaiah Joe is just gonna have to drop 50 on them.

I expect nothing less than 7/9 from 3 point land.

Trading Simmons for good players, even multiple good players, is not something they view as a path to either improving their current title odds or swinging a bigger deal down the line. They are after difference-making players, not more solid role players to add to what they feel is a reasonably deep (and young) group. And that's an approach that is likely going to require some patience, either for Simmons to come around and buy-in once more or for the caliber of player they want to become available elsewhere.

Critically, the Sixers believe they have the buy-in of Joel Embiid to carry out this strategy. In spite of the distance between the two over the summer and the shade cast in both directions through public interviews and leaked reports, Embiid ultimately just wants to win, and has expressed a desire to get Simmons in the fold and working toward contending. If Simmons proves stubborn or uninterested in doing so, the team believes Embiid is onboard with not settling for a trade just to be done with the problem altogether. To win a title, Embiid is aware they need star-level talent, whether that means winning Simmons back over or waiting for a star to get antsy in another market. People around the organization have noted changes in him as a leader and voice in the locker room, with Embiid ready and willing to work with whatever (and whoever) they have if a quick resolution doesn't happen.

The unspoken but understood name in a lot of these discussions is Portland's Damian Lillard, but the Sixers are heading into the season confident that things can and will go wrong for a lot of currently optimistic teams.

and there's this....

While waiting for Simmons to clear protocols and rejoin the team in earnest, the Sixers have only been able to put him through individual workouts and conduct meetings away from the larger group. And the early returns have not been especially encouraging — one source described Simmons as "going through the motions," though it was noted that things have improved each day over the few days he has been here.

All of this is to say that Simmons is "doubtful" for Friday's preseason finale on the road in Detroit, and that's a word that will apply to this situation in a number of ways in the days and weeks to come. The Sixers seem to feel they have the winning hand here regardless of what they can get from their disgruntled star. Time will tell if that faith is well-placed.

[Lauren Rosen] Doc Rivers says Danny Green (@DGreen_14), who is not playing tonight (rest) elected to come on the road trip to spend time with the young guys. 🥺 "He was Coach Danny today at shootaround.” Doc adds that he believes Danny will make a good coach someday.

a few more details...

[Shelburne] Ben Simmons almost missed Game 7 vs. Hawks due to a self-reported COVID-19 exposure. "Many within the team questioned whether Simmons had actually seen the masseuse -- or was just trying to get out of playing as he battled the basketball version of the yips."

Full context from the article:

On the morning of June 20, less than 10 hours before the Sixers were due to host the Atlanta Hawks in Game 7 of their second- round playoff series, Simmons was in limbo.

"They're not letting me play," he told his brother Sean Tribe and several teammates via text message.

Simmons was being held out of the team's shootaround, he told them, due to a possible exposure to a team masseuse, who'd returned an inconclusive COVID-19 test.

Several players were questioned about whether they'd seen her that morning, but only Simmons said that he had.

"He answered the question honestly, without thinking of the implications," says one source close to Simmons.

But according to multiple sources, many within the team questioned whether Simmons had actually seen the masseuse -- or was just trying to get out of playing as he battled the basketball version of the yips.
