Only took two years and til a couple of days ago to do so. Say whatever you want, how many organizations have a mascot dispute that lasted 2 years? Not many. Even if you want to blame the creators family, the Phillies knew this issue was coming up and didn’t handle it well either  

also i believe most of those 80 employees fired weren’t many of the guys making big decisions who really screwed the franchise over. Either way they did it by email the eve before thanksgiving. So they had to do it the eve before thanksgiving? They couldn’t have done it earlier? Or maybe after the holiday? And it wasn’t even for making a change within the organization to get better. they wanted to save money because middleton was claiming they lost $145 mil that year. I believe they saved $8 mil doing so which really is chump change in the grand scheme of things. There’s only one time i agree with the moron that is Marcus hayes and it was that situation.

There is a 10th "mystery” franchise that has held substantial trade conversations with Philadelphia of late, sources told B/R, yet it remains unclear, even to members of Klutch Sports, who this purported additional suitor is. No team, however, has come near Morey and the Sixers' firm asking price for Simmons, with simultaneous goals to further their championship contention around Embiid and remain in play to some day acquire a potentially available superstar—either from Portland or Washington, or some other unexpected franchise that will eventually arise.

And in the absence of Irving getting an extension from the Nets — which is obviously not happening now — the other tricky part here is that he can opt out of his deal after this season. That’s obviously a major factor for any interested team.

Has there been any rumor that James Harden wants to leave the Nets? There was a report that Morey still wants him but that’s not the same thing as James Harden is prepared to leave the Nets and Kevin Durant to go to Philadelphia.

it's wishful thinking, imo. i'm sure morey would love to get harden....but the odds of him asking out of brooklyn are slim. i mean...why would he?

I know he’s a FA at the end of the year (player option which is gonna opt out). The only way I can see him going to Philadelphia is if the nets completely self-destruct to the point where it is complete chaos and he says I’m out. I really highly doubt that happens to the nets. Frankly I think they would be better served not having Kyrie and trading him to build up the depth on that team. I said that last year that if they were able to have James Harden and Kevin Durant and then use Kyrie to build up the talent around them they would be better off.
