Haliburton's shooting, age (contract), defense and length would be much needed on this team.  Are we sure he is definitely available?

Haliburton, Murray, and Garland were all available over the summer for Simmons.

Morey definitely has a hard on for Harden and might have clouded his judgment on getting a young player to build around Embiid and move Maxey to his best role.

If they don't get this done it was a wasted year for Embiid. Is really no other way to put it.

As sure as we can be through reports.  He was in the reported offer that the Kings made.

It was Hield, Haliburton and Barnes for Simmons and Harris.

Yeah the Nets seem pretty adamant about that. Not even through a Steven A source. They're openly starting it.

Well...we definitely getting Harden now.

Just heard an interview with Embiid where he was asked about how he would feel about playing alongside Harden. My biggest takeaway from it is... I didn't expect Embiid to sound like that.

I don’t agree with it but at least it was a different perspective. I think at this point it’s far more likely they wait into the off-season than not.

If that was actually the offer, wow did the Sixers blow it by not accepting instantaneously.

Yep

I tend to think the nets just do a sign and trade with harden in the offseason. I view it as they likely believe harden, Durant and kyrie (when he can play) gives them the best chance at winning championship this year compared to what they’re gonna receive back. When harden decides he’s out when they don’t win a title i think it basically makes them have to do a sign and trade or lose him for nothing.

The Philadelphia 76ers have messaged an optimism that Ben Simmons may be willing to rejoin the team if he's not traded before the deadline.

While numerous figures affiliated with Simmons have insisted he'll never play for the 76ers again, sources tell Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report that there are people around Simmons who have pushed him to retake the floor if he's not traded.

Simmons has yet to play this season and has not received a pay check since October.

Simmons has four seasons remaining on his current contract with the 76ers.

This part makes no sense but it comes from Pompey so take it with a grain of salt. I suspect its not true, but he puts stuff out there to help Ben's camp

A trade between the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets centered on Ben Simmons or James Harden is unlikely to happen this week and the two teams have only spoke directly about it once several weeks ago, but there has been activity between the two sides in other ways.

Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer writes that a source indicated "both sides are going through back channels and third parties to get information."

Because Harden and Simmons are under contract, both sides need to find information in indirect ways.

"It’s the most bizarre thing,” the source said. "It’s almost as if they are playing a game of cat and mouse … because of all the tampering [implications].”

The 76ers do not believe they will face any tampering charges, according to people close to the team.

A source said the Nets haven't fully closed the door on trading Harden, despite the public posturing.

"People are saying one thing to one person and saying something completely different to someone else,” the source said. "I get the impression that that’s epitome of the entire situation on all fronts.

"I get the impression that they want Ben and they know the Harden thing is coming to an end and it’s not working anyway. There’s a sense that Simmons could be the lesser of two evils.”

The Inquirer confirmed a report that Brooklyn may be open to trading Harden to the 76ers for a package involving Simmons.

I hear you.

But, Im of the opinion that its best to maximize assets.

Also if you just did the Kings deal right now, you may find a better opportunity than Harden in the summer.

I don't buy that Harden talk at all. That stuff never pans out for the 76ers and they are better taking what they can get from the Kings if either of those two are available.

And the more time passes the more people will discount Simmons failures

You don't believe it for the deadline or off season?

Either of them. He isn't leaving NY or Durant. It may happen...but it would really surprise me.

I think we have a shot in the summer. There are a ton of connections. Though we kind of felt that way with LeBron one summer, this is different. He was still capable of leading a team to a title that year. Harden is getting fairly washed. Those are the guys who Philly can reliably land.

Harden will end up here and dog it because he can ride Embiid through the regular season. If he is getting boos in NY he will definitely get them here with his lazy ass.

Then Morey will be all smiles because he finally got his boy

I would put the odds at 70% chance he comes this summer unless Nets win the title.

The blazers gotta be in full rebuild mode with the moves they are making or trying to clear up space this offseason for a max level player (still don’t see one going to Portland). gotta believe lillard asks to be dealt at some point or they are looking to deal him if they can’t get that max player to play alongside him. Cause that team as constructed after these trades is going to be even worse next year when it’s just little, lillard, Simmons and hart if that plan fails. Even if they don’t hold anyone but Simmons it clears around 32.4 mil. Bledsoe is only guaranteed 3.9 mil so they can either use him as an expiring contract next year or just do what the sixers did with George hill save about 15 mil if they move on. I’m guessing also getting some expiring contracts back from the pelicans in the McCollum deal. Could have a ton of cap space and strikeout
