So the Nets are pushing for both Maxey and Thybulle plus Simmons? I want Ben gone, but the F out of here with that. Hope Morey laughed in their faces if that was their ask.

I'm sure he did. The fact the Nets are engaging at all is the headline here...seems like just a matter of time.

i hope morey asked for KD instead

Also, why are there 2 threads now?

I feel like 80% confident this will get done. And Maxey will not be part of it.

Sam amik in his article i posted from the athletic basically said the sixers know harden is out at the end of the year and have a way to sign him outright and the nets get nothing in return for him when he does.

The other concern with the nets is if James Harden plays that way and doesn’t care you’re not winning a title this season anyway. because Kyrie Irving you don’t know when or when he’s not gonna play. Durant even if he comes back plays like he does isn’t enough to carry that team with a harden playing like he is and Kyrie off and on. IF Harden is truly out there half assing it like he did in Houston

I think Dick Vermeil and Vince Papale were alcoholics too.  They puked.  Together.

As was the owner. One big drunk happy family.

Yeah. Totally valid. Completely believable that the at the most intensely covered sporting event of the year, with dozens of cameras, not a single one picked up any evidence but it definitely happened because Freddie Mitchell said so. Oh, and TO. If you can't trust TO and FredEx, who can you trust in this crazy world.

McNabb had a bad game. The idea he was vomiting on the field and no camera caught any evidence is laughable.

The reason McNabb is hated is similar to why a guy like Schmidt was never embraced (obviously, Schmidt was a much better player in his sport). McNabb wasn't gritty/emotional/fiery enough for this fanbase (see Garcia, Jeff), just like people complained Schmidt didn't seem like he cared. They saw Iverson get slammed around, get up and do the Hulk Hogan ear thing to the crowd. So they overlooked all his faults (didn't play the team game, didn't practice or improve, etc.). It's the same reason a guys like Kruk and Dykstra (before he went insane) were so loved -- because Philly likes guys who give the appearance of effort.

The other reason McNabb wasn't embraced? Well...this is touchy but...he was too black for white fans and not black enough for black fans. The guy took crap from Rush Limbaugh and the head of the Philly NAACP. That's got to be a first.

I would add there’s a portion of fans that since he retired have grown to dislike him more as time has gone by. some of the stuff he’s done since he’s left Philadelphia and things he said in the media. I like McNabb when he was here. I defended him probably more than I probably should’ve at times, but his antics and things he’s done since he retired hasn’t helped him either.

The DUIs are awful -- just completely irresponsible and dangerous. I haven't really minded much of his "commentary," but I really don't let any of these guys get under my skin (that takes patience with Bayless since he is a world class troll and clown).

Since he retired, I have had a few acquaintances who have interacted with him and...let's just say I wouldn't choose to hang with the dude. But I still am a fan (my dog was named after him) and can't understand the need to try and diminish what he did for this organization. He remains the best QB in team history, and prior to 2017 was responsible for the happiest periods of my Eagles fandom.

Oh I know he doesn’t have a high moral character. I am friends with a girl who was his mistress out in Scottsdale.

He was trying to bang a friend of my assistant's back in the day. She did get him to autograph a football for me before she shut him down though...so win?

They are never getting deal done by Friday. Nets aren't giving up Harden with out more then useless Simmons

No offense but dumas is the idiot who kept saying things earlier in the season and wound up being completely inaccurate.

that said i don’t doubt the nets asked for that. I’d just wait til the offseason if you are going to do it and the nets leverage plummets especially if the sixers move Harris and can just outright sign harden.

just saying I am not a James Harden fan. I’m just saying that’s the direction they’re obviously trending towards but that’s what they should do

I actually got his autograph down in Tucson. He was watching his nieces basketball game (she played at Oregon). So I went at half time and told him we got moved out to Arizona because my dad was in the Air Force. But we haven’t missed a game and we love him (was the offseason he has his acl repaired). And he just looked at me with disgust when I told him all this and so I just quickly asked him for an autograph and left.

Weird. I met him in 2002. I was boarding a flight from LA to Philly, and I was "randomly selected" at the gate while boarding to be searched. While I was watching them go through my underwear, I noticed a huge dude in an orange sweatshirt get on the plane. When I finally boarded (last), he and his wife (maybe girlfriend) were sitting behind me because he was flying back from the Pro Bowl. We talked for a couple minutes, he signed something for me, and then he went to sleep after takeoff. About 3 or 4 times flight attendants came up with kids and his wife woke him up and he signed autographs. After the last time, he got up and walked through coach signing autographs for everyone who wanted one. Seemed like a good dude back them.

I still think this happens in the offseason. I see that’s when the nets lose a ton of leverage the sixers could make a move to just outright sign him or the nets have to come to the reality where he just leaves to go to Philly and get nothing in return so they take the sign and trade offer of Simmons and someone like Danny green to make it work financially.

I feel early in his career he probably was more willing too. Later in his career with everything that happened and was said I’m guessing not as willing too. I also suspect probably was in a bad place with his acl injury that year and what Garcia accomplished.

F no. You get Simmons and Green/Curry. Take a walk otherwise. The guy is 33 with a busted leg and due to be a free agent.

That was me and I was out of line in the heat of the moment.

We are going to end up trading Ben for Michael Carter Williams, Markelle Fultz, and a 2nd round pick, aren't we?
