I’m guessing it’s geared for the 23-24 season. I don’t see them in the market for a big time player this offseason. Would make more sense with assets (picks to take on porzingis) and an expiring contract of porzingis at that point in time.

Good trade for the raptors cause they could use young and don’t have to (likely lose) go to the buyout market to try and convince him to go there. 

spurs not really sure the benefit unless they think he can help murray even more. Guessing he’s likely dealt to another team

Getting a first for Thad seems like a good deal for the Spurs.  Their owner basically bought the pick by covering the Dragic buyout, although that will likely be a decent second rounder from Detroit.

It’s a great move tbh. You were going to just buyout Thad anyway so dragic isn’t much different. Might as well hope the raptors don’t finish in the lottery and you get a first rounder for basically the same thing you were gonna do.

[Pompey] Sources say the teams spoke Thursday morning. One source said Sixers co-owner Michael Rubin is involved in the situation and that the Nets are asking for a lot.

One league source said, as of Thursday morning, Curry was out of a potential deal. On Wednesday, a source said Curry and a first-round pick have been mentioned along with Thybulle as part of a potential deal for Harden. A person close to the Sixers disputed the package centered around Simmons for Harden.

But the Sixers have said they’re content with waiting until this summer to move Simmons in order to keep their young standouts. The Sixers have a plan to acquire Harden in free agency this summer if need be.

Sixers president of basketball operation Daryl Morey has affinity for Harden. Rubin maintains a close relationship with Harden and his close circle as well. Harden also has a tight relationship with Sixers CEO Tad Brown. Brown was the Houston Rockets CEO and Morey served as the Rockets general manager when Harden played for Houston.

I can already see how this plays out. No deal gets done, Harden decides to go somewhere else in the offseason, and Morey has no choice but to trade Ben for scraps or hold onto him at the expense of actually improving the roster. 
 

The moral of the story? He should have taken the damn Kings deal when it was offered.
