Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I would be curious how many opportunities he had to make contested catches. It can be hard to differentiate a player making a contested catch because he couldn’t separate vs an inaccurate throw.

To me, this is more of a defense for his hands. He has a lot of drops, but I believe it’s more concentration instead of having bad hands.

Seems to be the common thought among those who watched Reagor a lot in college. He can make insane catches but will drop easy ones.

Ok... Let's go deep into the click bait on this whole Baldy rumor, just for fun.

Eagles send Alshon Jeffery and Malik Jackson to the Jets along with a 1st round draft pick in 2021.
Jets send Jamal Adams and a 2nd round pick in 2021 back to the Eagles.

Yeah.... crazy.  But, discussing this sure beats a lot of other topics.

Then the Eagles sign Clowney to bolster the line 🙃

Duh.  Where's the fun in that?

I just can’t get excited by a Baldy teaser.  He is like the boy who cried wolf.

Honestly, I can't think of a big Howie move that was telegraphed. I'm sure there are examples, but they tend to just go down.

Why would you do that to me?

Cant see it happening.  After his cheap shot on Wentz, history of dirty plays and saying negative things about Eagles fans I dont see him playing here. I'd be shocked if it happens.

Salary cap won't permit the Eagles signing him, but Clowney would be an ideal fit in this defense. He would absolutely wreck games here with Schwartz's system and those DTs.

when he feels like it.

On plays where he's actually trying.....yes.

How much we talking tho?  He wanted $20 mill a year and it didnt happen. What would he settle for?

If they trade AJ and MJ they might be able to though Adams would want a lot as well.

I know.  I wouldn't complain if they added a talent like The Clown but I just dont see it happening.

Who would it be.....Sweat, Jackson, Ridgeway, Barnett I'm guessing?  Not bad I guess.  I'd really like to see Sweat take a big step up this year and hoping Ostman gets back to 100% to show what he can do.

Adams would likely eat any 'savings'.

And yes.... you were busting balls.... mine!   🤦‍♂️

I would hold my tongue hoping that it worked out in the end, but I wouldn't be elated or even happy about it.

They did assemble a dream team especially on defense but then made the OL coach the D coordinator 😂

What they assembled was a bunch of selfish players who were there for a paycheck.   Nnamdi ate lunch in his car... alone.  DRC was scared to touch a player with the ball.  Babin did the same move on every play... run around the OT and hope that the QB backs up into you, even on 3rd and short...

Just a horrible horrible collection of players.   The coach had no real chance, especially when the DC was being undercut by the **** DL coach who thought he could dictate to the DC and just play Wide 9 pass rush on each and every play... and he literally taught the DL to ignore anything but what they were going to do.

Honestly, looking back, I don't think the decision to hire Castillo as DC was as bad as it appeared on the face.  I think he could have been very good, if given time to grow into the job (granted in the NFL, that doesn't happen often), but given what he had to deal with the defense wasn't that bad.  I think the decision to hire Washburn (and giving him the autonomy he had) was actually a far worse decision than Castillo.   Castillo was a PR mistake.  Washburn was a personnel mistake.

I wonder if it's Dimitri Patterson or Jamar Chaney

Griffen or Warford on a one year deal would be fine.

Anything more than $9M for Clowney is an overpayment, and wouldn’t make the team better in any way.

Whatever the Eagles do, with a lower than expected cap likely coming next year, they can't give away too much of the farm now, and not affect next year...  It would have to be the right move.

So the fiscal conservative in me got to pondering Presidential golf, going off of something else I Was reading.  Ike, Obama, Trump - all big time golfers.  I just don’t get why the don’t utilize the military base golf courses around DC.  Heck, there are three courses at Andrews Air Force Base, which is where they park Air Force One.  The Army has two course at Fort Belvoir and the Marines (Navy) have one at Quantico. The actual Navy has one at Patuxent River, one at Annapolis and one at Indian Head. Would be so much easier to protect a president at a military base and I have to imagine, a lot cheaper.  I don’t know when those course were built so I don’t know if they existed when Ike put in the pitch and putt hole and driving range at Camp David, that I assume are still there.

What got me thinking about this was an article I read on the number of generals and admirals we have now.  Just shy of 1,000 commanding about 1.3 million servicemen. In contrast, in World War II, when we were actually fighting a world war, there were about 2,000 commanding 12 million troops. Average staff cost per flag officer? $1 million. Drivers, secretaries, chefs.  And, of course, golf.  Not easy for an enlisted serviceman to get a tee time. Ever wonder why you aren’t flying with admirals and generals but are with enlisted men?  Well the admirals and generals are getting around in C-40s, basically tricked out versions of what Southwest flies.

Hey, it’s only tax dollars and frankly, the way this Congress spends within income, just our grandkids’ tax dollars. Seems like those dollars could be better saved or, if spent, maybe on veterans.

Forget Clowney, give me that Jags DE that just turned 25 and has atleast 8 sacks in each of the last 4 seasons.

If any of you are an "App" head on a phones, tablets etc , this is worth reading...

It would be less hassle just mailing China all of your personal details...
