Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I'm curious how well Peters will play at Guard.   He'll be next to Johnson, it should be interesting...

Although, if you believe that no season will happen, then this is all academic.

Money is a little-rich for me, but 3M isn't the end of the world.

He can continue to work with and push Dillard, is great insurance at LT and is obviously familiar with our scheme.

The downside is he’s never played the position before so it’s total projection. Up to $6M seems close to what Warford will get at this point. I think it’s safe to say Warford will be the better player in 2020, perhaps significantly so, but my guess is they see the intangibles and versatility as too good to pass on.

Or the "fake" back injury is far more serious than anyone actually seriously considered.

I like that they made the Mailata pick.  7th round lottery ticket makes sense.

Mailata should be the swing tackle, I don't see this related to hm at all.  Tells me Pryor isn't ready which sucks.  I really want to see him get a chance.

I’m ok with this, but i hope this isn’t the big news that was supposed to greatly improve us in July. Not that I expected better to be honest.

Is Dillard better than Peters at LT?  Yes Dillard is young and has great potential and movement skills.  Yes Peters is older and breaking down, and misses time with injury.  But, Peters was pretty good last year, finally not coming into the year off a major injury.  He was not dominant as he has been in the past, but he was an effective LT in both the run and pass game.  Dillard had some issues getting acclimated and seems to have strength questions.  I just wonder if it is better to make Dillard earn the job -- as Peters has said -- when he is better than me, he can take the job.  There are several decent options at RG, I think Pryor showed last year he has potential there to be a decent starter.  I don't know how much better Peters will be there, I guess we will find out.

I definitely love bringing him back, whether it is to start or as a backup/insurance policy, he is an all-time great eagle and I am sure the cost isn't exorbitant.

Love someone the way Lane loves Jason.

Yeah i guess most of us old farts. I know my kids can too. I made them all learn to drive on a stick.

Both my wife and I learned to drive stick but I haven't had the opportunity to show my daughter.

Peters is the backup at LT, with Pryor playing G if necessary. That's a win. Dillard doesn't have someone looking over his shoulder as Peters starts somewhere else, while we're covered if Dillard gets hurt.

The guy this most impacts IMO is Mailata. They must not think he can play/be healthy.

Why does everything have to have some secretive meaning? They needed a right guard and they got one. The fact that he can back-up a couple of other positions is a bonus.

I came in here ready to argue with everyone relentlessly about how this was a horrible move.  I was the captain of the "Peters is cooked" bandwagon.

And then I see Peters at RG.  This is the best of all worlds.  Dillard saves face.  He gets a LT mentor (and LT insurance) right on the line with him.  And the inevitable RG rotation with Pryor will be a lot less disruptive to the offense than the LT rotation.

This move improves the depth/insurance at LT, improves the starting situation at RG, win/win.  The only hard part was getting Peters to agree to it.  I think once Peters realized that no one in the NFL wanted him to be their week 1 starter at LT, he knew that his options to play football were to either return here in this role or to wait it out for a mid-season LT injury.

I don’t know how to drive stick 😞, but now I want a car with a go pedal.

I know how disappointed you must be. 😜

I don't think it says anything about Mailata if Peters plays guard.  I do think it means they weren't sure about Pryor which makes sense.  It will be interesting to see how it plays out for him.

That wouldn't shock me. I'd be upset that they kept it secret for so long but wouldn't be shocked

Might be a step towards him being an assistant OL coach.

You could learn it's easy. It's all about eye, foot, hand coordination.

If they brought him in to be a LT, it has a lot of meaning.  As a RG, there is no underlying meaning.  It's a clear win/win.

But sure...Pryor is a 6th round pick entering year 3.  Just last year, they went out of their way to make Brooks, who stands between Pryor and starting, the highest paid NFL interior lineman in history.  I think it's safe to say the Eagles aren't expecting Pryor to be a great long-term starter for them.  But that's obviously OK.

As far as Mailata is concerned, this doesn't really say much about him at all, for better or worse.

Kept it secret?  He was IR'd the last two years with a 'back injury'.  How did they keep it secret?

Teams tell you what they think of their roster with action, not words.

Bringing back Peters says they don't trust Pryor to be the RG and/or our backup LT options.

I never really got into player personalities or geeking out over certain guys playing together (the excitement over Trotter and Spikes playing together past their prime, which ended with roster cuts, rings a bell).....but I'm sure those that do will enjoy seeing 2 of the best Eagle OL of all time, Peters and Lane, shoulder to shoulder.

He’ll have you flat-shifting in a week and on your second transmission in two.

Well... to your first question... we are bored, so conspiracy theory building and bashing fills the time.  We need something to discuss.

And there's really no guarantee that the Eagles, in fact, 'got one' (meaning a RG).  Peters has never played right guard.  And as far as we can actually know, based on his play in the NFL, Peters can play LT.  Not sure about RT.  That's projection, too.

I need to learn to drive stick before the summer ends.
