Gotta say, this is probably a really bad offseason to switch Mills to S and Peters to G, as well as having Maddox on the outside full time. I think we are going to be lucky if even one works out.

Mills has the hardest switch not really because of the position but because of what he will be called on to do in taking Malcolm's place.  I think physically he's going to be able to cover RBs, TEs and slot WRs like Jenkins covered.  It will be the recognition of offenses and being able to adjust the defense's coverage which will be new.  Maddox has played on the outside previously.  I am not worried about him but it's not like he's a proven outside CB.  Peters moving inside is going to be hard without the reps together with Lane and Kelce beside him.  The best part of that transition is that they are familiar with him.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Where's my friend "we_gotta_believe"?

I'm not saying that this is a sure thing by any means... BUT... I'll give the glass nearly full viewpoint:

1 - Mills is well acquainted with the defense as a whole, so he doesn't need to learn the defense or the calls, he just needs to learn his new responsibility.  So, the learning curve is only on the position change, not everything.  Mills also has the right mentality for when a foul-up happens.  Put it in the past, and make the next play.

2 - Peters is a coaches' dream.  He studies and he and Lane are great friends, as is Brandon Brooks.  I see the 3 of them being inseparable and start working on things immediately.  Brooks can help Peters with the techniques of guard and guard responsibilities, meanwhile, Lane can be there in the midst of chemistry.

3 - Maddox is another football lifer type.  So, he'll put in the work by himself.

Didn't make the trip

Hopefully it all goes that smoothly. Just wondering with the nonexistent offseason so far, and TC up in he air, would the team just be better with Mills opposite Slay, Peters at LT or swing, and Maddox... somewhere. It seems like familiarity is the way to go with all the uncertainty. Coaches are going to have a lot on their plate.

I hope Mills is right but I wouldn't put too much stock into it, the guy doesn't lack for confidence in himself.

And that was one reason he wasn't a first round selection.

I'd rather have Peters learning a new position than Dillard as the backup to RT.

As for the rest... maybe, and they still could.  But, the reality is that I don't necessarily believe that rosy outlook, but I'm looking for the positive side.  There's plenty to be negative about right now.  I prefer not to be.

Yes, that's what Burger King is doing but read the comments

Read the Twitter comments on a fast food post about environmental sustainability which is probably full of hippies and vegans?  Hard pass. I'm sure it's awful though.

Common theme around the league seems to be 20%. Jags get an extra 5%, because, well, they don't have fans.

LT should be open competition. Let Dillard and the two boys from Auburn and whoever else is a youngin who wants that MEGA Payday down the line fight it out.

LT is the premier position. Comes with premier $$$'s. Gotta want it BiG Time.

Honestly, that's one of my favorite traits about him.  It reminds me of U.S. Grant.

After Day 1 of the Battle of Shiloh.

Sherman: "Well Grant, we've had the devil's own day, haven't we?"
Grant: "Yes, lick 'em tomorrow, though."

I think he said he wasn't going to make the transition to the new boards.

Not to mention Peter's can also help out Dillard at LT.  Maybe like an extra coach.

Well some people are trans-boarded and some people are just cis-boarded.

They at least usually have a large number of the other teams fans. Lots of transplants in southern CA.

I was going to try to go to the cardinals/eagles game in December out here. Have a feeling it’s going to be hard to get the tickets. Might make the trek out to Vegas in 2021 if i can’t go this year.

Great to get Peters back and about the best we could do in replacing Brooks.  The silver lining is we have an option should Dilliard sheet the bed.

I was VERY bummed in losing Brooks.  While this isn't a full replacement it certainly eases the pain.

He got tired of arguing with me about Schwartz.

Stadium only holds about 26k though, I think.   So, they are looking at about 5k.

It's more likely that it's filled with self-righteous youngsters that haven't had to work for a living.

I'm still doubting there will be fans at all, anywhere. I'd go to Vegas, that stadium looks awesome.
