It’s not selfishness. Those businesses have lost thousands and in many cases millions because of the pandemic. If they’re allowed to open, they will.

Then when you open these places, where people naturally go to socialize in many instances, then it is natural for humans to congregate.

I manage a gym, a smaller gym, and we clean the crap out of everything and make our guidelines well known. But no way can we keep ppl from coming in and talking to one another without getting within 6 feet of each.

That’s the point I’m trying to make about football and sports in general. They can play the sport, huddle, etc but then have to go stand 6 feet apart on the sidelines... so stupid and pointless.

I'm not blaming business owners,  I'm disappointed in the customers.   It may be natural for us to congregate, but we also have large brains that can make adjustments when needed.  If people want to remain 6 feet apart,, wear masks, we can do it..  As for football, it is ridiculous.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Andre Dillard tapped out going from LT to RT on the fly. Switching sides is hard.

The good news for Jason is that he has time to get used to the new side. I'm more worried about Peters switching sides than playing guard.

Interesting isn’t the word I’d use, but I digress...

I seem to recall you having one of these if memory serves. Thoughts?

Sorry for the delay Manu....haven't logged on in a while.

Yes, good memory! I have been a Big Green Egg guy for several years now and absolutely swear by them (or any comparable ceramic kamado cooker...Primo, Kamado Joe, etc)

Although recently, some of the Traegers have my interest, just because of the ease and simplicity of the wifi controls. I may eventually get one of those as an addition, so I can do long cooks while not at home. But it would definitely not be a replacement for my Eggs!

Glad to see you make it here.

Yeah. Honestly if the NFL has daily testing, maybe they can. In high school we cant.

I know some schools wont be enforcing that rule. Because you cant seriously have a football player practice with 1 bottle of water. Most of them have multiple 10 gallon coolers and go through it all. You need to be able to refill a bottle. They need to drink. Dehydration or sickeling will kill them quicker than COVID will.

The moment PA goes back to "yellow" it won't matter because all high school spots will at that point be canceled

We are talking Covid and football. I'd be happy to make it political and say exactly who is pushing that agenda if you'd like. Outside of that it falls inside the bounds of the current discussion about the season being cancelled. We may not get football in part to hysteria over a spike that looks to be in part being generated by faulty numbers.

FL had their highest number of deaths yesterday.  Care to explain that away?  I thought heat was going to kill the virus???  LOL

My neighbor has a Kamodo.  He swears by it.  Holds heat well.  My only issue with those kind of grills is the surface space isn't very large.  So if you're doing a bunch of food, it's tight.

Yeah, that was my issue at first too.

I started with a Large (most common size) egg. Quickly learned some tricks to add surface space, and it is fine for my family.

However, I recently stepped up and bought the XL, and it's a beast. Plenty of room to cook for a lot of people.

I haven't read all of the Jason Peters comments but one thing that will be interesting to see and I don't know if it's been discussed is how well can JP pull for the guard position.  Running a trap is a whole lot different for a guard.  The quickness and speed needed.  The pressure it puts on your pivot knee.  I know JP is a freak athlete but his body is going to have to adjust to all new movements and his muscles and joints will be taking a whole new beating.  He will be a great bulldozer and pass blocker.  He should still be OK at getting to the 2nd level for blocking.  It's the small intricacies of playing OG that worry me a bit.

Ya Miami is a nasty democrat cesspool is why and I’m not having football canceled due to the hysteria over that.

i manage a Cosco not only did we never close but we have to work 50 hour weeks ,and still are, over the usual 40 with increased foot traffic. Not a single worker has ever tested possitive for covid in my store.  Guess we are all "lucky.”

LOL.  Well, I'll take my health advice from someone other than a "manager of Costco".  Thanks though.  ;)

I wanna do an experiment to see what peoples level of optimism that the seasons of the major sports can continue/start/finish.  Put a % next to each sport.  Higher the % the more confident you are....  Not so much the seasons starting, because I think it's obvious MLB/NHL/NBA are going ahead....but it lasting to a finality.  Here's mine.

NFL 2020 Season start and finish- 10%

NBA 2019/2020 Season restart and finish- 60%

NHL 2019/2020 Season restart and finish- 60%

MLB 2020 Season start and finish- 70%

NCAAF 2020 Season start and finish- 5%

Are we talking on time?  Lots of talk about NCAA in the spring as has been discussed on here.

NFL- 100% but could be cut short.  I think the schedule will be put together where they could end the season after 8, 10, 12 or 14 games if needed

NBA- 100%

NHL- 100%

MLB- 100%

NCAA- 0% fall, 100% spring.

0% across the board. Way too many people think this is all no big deal for us to safely finish any season.

For me it's the leagues finishing that I think will be the issue.

NHL and NBA are highest for me because right now it's just the playoffs, a shorter span that they have to get through. Even a shorter baseball season is still a long time to have to control spread between players not even counting the playoffs.

I had NBA lower than NHL cause they already have players breaking the bubble after a week, if that continues they won't make it. We'll see if NHL players do it once they get in their bubbles, if they do then I give them the same chance the NBA has at finishing

That’s a good point.  Didn’t think about spring ball.  As far as the NFL.  Whatever the schedule is, 12,14 games etc.  There would be a season and a final outcome, in those scenarios.  I don’t think they’ll be any NFL games played.

They may play one or two. City blocking fans now this far out is ridiculous, but probably won't matter.

Gentlemen, while I don't run this blog or this message board can we please keep all this political, covid virus, blm, white supremacy, BS out? I just want, no need someplace that doesn't talk about it ad nauseam, I'm asking nicely.

Thanks

Costco also requires masks has social distancing protocols in place no more dine in and workers have plexi glass shield in from of register.

Its not like its hordes of maskless people rubbing elbows for hours...
