What was the reaction when they announced no fans over there?

I think a general acceptance that watching on TV/Internet or listening on radio is preferable to no sport at all.  It keeps TV money coming in, ad revenue coming in and other businesses going and teams staff in jobs.  My team over here gave season ticket holders a choice of a refund or for the club to retain the money, and most said, keep the money.

Last weekend we had football, cricket and F1 all on TV, with rugby from NZ/Aus, etc.  It may seem a long way away, but it is doable. However the players need to take a lot of responsibility for their actions and keep that discipline.  There are no excuses for going to the pub for a drink, etc.

My team did COVID testing 3 times a week and put appropriate protocols in place at the training facility.   It may seem a long way away, but it is possible to get back to relatively normal life if you get protocols right.  My Nephews football team have started fitness training to get the boys out of the house and motivated, but there is no info about when they will restart.

The reality is, COVID will be here for a while, so with careful planning, life can trend towards normal.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Dak officially is on the franchise tag, meaning that the Cowboys are going to mess it up.

Deadline passed, no Dak deal

Considering his combine flub, it’s pretty hilarious.

Yep.  Better them then us.  Guess what teams don't win the SB.  Teams that pay RB's top dollar.

Ironically, the same can be said about QBs.

Whoops.

Sounds like posturing. No reason to wait until the last second to get a deal done.

Yup that’s how i feel about it.

Yeah, it seems fishy. Like Dak is putting it out there he wanted to sign so fans don’t think he’s greedy or that the Cowboys changed the structure enough for him to agree, but it was offered too late to iron out all the details.

It’s been so dry I haven’t had to mow in 10 days. It’s pouring right now so my lawn will look raggedy tomorrow.

I look forward to mowing and trimming and edging though. It’s an excuse to get outside and away from my kids for an hour and a half.

Dak clearly wants to go the Cousins route, which he's entitled to. Cousins has made more guaranteed money than any other player in the league since 2016 going the franchise route, followed by the deal he signed with Minnesota. I probably wouldn't do it because of the risk and variables, but I don't know why all of the sudden we're supposed to think they agreed to a deal at the very last second but ran out of time.

You need a garden.   Better tasting than grass clippings any day!     And I can go outside into my garden for an hour and a half nearly anytime I want.

Well $502 million was robbed from the state of MD via fraudulent unemployment claims. The average fraudulent claim was over 10 weeks...

We may see stuff reopening sooner rather than later just because there’s no money left to go towards unemployment...

I have a feeling Wolf is easing us back in to a lockdown.  Today's announcement of 25% occupancy at restaurants, only teleworking allowed and no bar service is step one.  2 weeks from, after we are "adjusted" to this we will go back to take-out/delivery only and in another 2 weeks we will be all back at home.

Good luck with that.

Whoops.

Didn't the Bears lose a draft pick a few years ago by using the same method?

They’re going to have to freeze all rent/mortgages and hand out food stamps.

I’m definitely not an expert on diseases or economics but my gut says the long term economic hit from this could be 100x worse than the virus ever was or maybe could have been. Not meaning to downplay lives but we don’t want to be communist Russia...
