I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Schwartz hates Kendricks.

NFL needs to relocate or stop the charade. There will be no season.

Marcus Vick is nodding approvingly as he reads Tad’s tweets.

Living here in SEC country i saw a lot of Dak in college. Someone on the Cowpies staff did a helluva job making him better because he just wasn't all that good in college

I mean everyone is at risk no?  I know there are higher risk but why even break it down like this.  By excluding other races it just furthers a divide if you ask me.  Am I reading this wrong but does this mean white players under 28 BMI if they get Covid can't opt out?  Give every player an opt-out cause.

Honestly IMHO if ward makes the team by anything more than the skin of his teeth (5th or 6th) we might not have gotten much better at receiver.

I actually think they added a lot of talent at WR.  The issue is that the new talent may not be ready to play in this league or this offense, especially considering the loss of the offseason.

With Ward...there are 2 things in play that, IMO, make him a lock (even though I'd probably cut him).

1.  Even the best and brightest fan arm chair GM's often overlook something that coaches emphasize (perhaps overemphasize at times)...knowing what the hell to do.  Not even producing, just lining up in the right place, blocking the right people, running the right routes, even if covered.  Remember when they were complimenting Hollins for that?  He was the #2 WR because he could do that.  JJAW couldn't.  With Reagor/Hightower/Watkins/Goodwin have no safety net for how confused or unreliable they might be.  Given the past disasters, they are going to cling to Ward.

2.  There will be a sentimental attachment to Ward.  They cut him 47 times, yet he came in last year and was their best option.  They aren't going to project forward in camp.  He has more familiarity with this offense and Wentz than pretty much any other WR in camp.  So he's going to be running the right routes and catching the football while everyone else is learning which direction to walk in.  No way they cut him.

You’re reading it wrong. It’s an OR not an AND. Though I’m not sure why they singled out black, Hispanic, and Pacific Islander. It’s 100% a money issue and minorities are going to be more affected because of that. NFL players shouldn’t have that problem.

I think a general acceptance that watching on TV/Internet or listening on radio is preferable to no sport at all.  It keeps TV money coming in, ad revenue coming in and other businesses going and teams staff in jobs.  My team over here gave season ticket holders a choice of a refund or for the club to retain the money, and most said, keep the money.

Last weekend we had football, cricket and F1 all on TV, with rugby from NZ/Aus, etc.  It may seem a long way away, but it is doable. However the players need to take a lot of responsibility for their actions and keep that discipline.  There are no excuses for going to the pub for a drink, etc.

My team did COVID testing 3 times a week and put appropriate protocols in place at the training facility.   It may seem a long way away, but it is possible to get back to relatively normal life if you get protocols right.  My Nephews football team have started fitness training to get the boys out of the house and motivated, but there is no info about when they will restart.

The reality is, COVID will be here for a while, so with careful planning, life can trend towards normal.

Out of curiosity, who is your team?

Yea, they gave him an All Pro OL and running game for 4 years.

Yannick has made it very clear he’s only signing with the highest bidder.

That means you are trading for 1 year of Yannick at $17.8m.

Not worth nearly as much as you’d think. We saw what Clowney went for last year.

I think this is one of the big reasons that not just players, but coaches want an extra long TC period this August.  Whether it comes at the price of preseason games, I guess we'll see, but the entire league has missed out on getting their rookies enough time to work on getting ready.

Ike Reese mentioned he would prefer zero ps games, and just a long 4-5 week TC period in which coaching staffs can work with the 2s, 3,s and 4s as much as possible.

Yea AND OR...so if you're white AND under 28 BMI it sounds like you're out of luck no?  Am I reading that wrong?  Just trying to understand why even bring race into it.

Yup.  Forget any divisions for who can and who can't.   Just put a blanket out there for anyone who is concerned.  Opt-out - no pay, no accrued service.  You revert back to your current team under your current deal if/when things change or you change your mind...

Don't bring ANYTHING in to it.  Carson Wentz just had a baby.  Maybe he doesn't want to play and expose his little girl.  Whatever.   Let these guys make the decision themselves.  No accrual of a season.  No pay.  The player doesn't count against the cap for this year... it's like a 'pause' button.   The cap implications, the years of service, the pay, etc.  It all clicks back in when the player decides to return, at which time, the team could have a replacement plan in place and they might want to just move on.

I disagree on ward. I think some team looking for a 4/5 WR that can also play special teams would pick him up. Last year at the end of the year showed he is deserving to be a back end of the roster player. I think someone would claim him.

I think Hightower or Watkins is going to have an "injury” to move them to IR. I also think it depends on how they look in camp. I am not sure if they have a rookie year camp like gibson the eagles keep one even though they did so with gibson.

I've been thinking this from the start.  There's no way both of these guys will be ready to play, and I'd be ecstatic if 1 of them were.  Their reports are very intriguing, but this would be the perfect position to IR, because this offense needs the speed.

BMI is such a terrible metric to use. Aaron Donald is considered severely obese by BMI standards and he's absolutely jacked. It doesn't take muscle into consideration, just height and weight. I would bet that 90% of these guys are considered obese or overweight by BMI standards.

I'd be willing to bet Jason Peters alone hits 95% of those criteria

No they just singled out those ethnicities because statistically they’re at a higher risk, but it’s not because of their ethnicity. So if you’re black, Hispanic, or a Pacific Islander you can opt out. Only 1 condition needs to be met.

This is how it should be done.

One thing to note regarding Ward is that he cannot play as an outside receiver. He’s a slot-only guy for an offense that projects to play 12 personnel 50 percent of the time.

He played a lot of x and even some z in addition to slot last year, he is not a slot only guy. Versatile. Frankly, I don’t put a lot of stock in Goodwin.  He just doesn’t stay healthy and he is 30.   If Quez is any good, I would rather keep him and try to trade Goodwin.

Of course, but that's too simple.  They can't do that.

Based on BMI, probably 100%
