BMI basically does not apply to high end athletes, so it's somewhat ironic that a professional sports league just used it as a major contractual stipulation.

It was the NFLPA that requested it.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Maybe they wanted it because they know the vast majority of the players would then be covered by that... but why not just ask for every player that feels uncomfortable to be able to opt out.  Why complicate it with nonsense?  Football is not a game you can play while be scared of contact or proximity to someone else.  It's ludicrous.

I don't disagree.  Just saw E mention the league stipulated it and remembered it was the union who added it as an op-out clause.

I mean everyone is at risk no?  I know there are higher risk but why even break it down like this.  By excluding other races it just furthers a divide if you ask me.  Am I reading this wrong but does this mean white players under 28 BMI if they get Covid can't opt out?  Give every player an opt-out cause.

Because race is a determinate. Duh. How many whites get cycle cell anemia? Race, and more specifically its attendant DNA, is scientifically linked to certain strengths and weaknesses. Referring back to cycle cell anemia, the same gene that makes blacks susceptible to it is what makes them resistant to malaria. The planters sent their slaves into the death plantations in South Carolina and Louisiana where they would not go themselves and the slaves survived. Cycle cell anemia is Nature’s revenge.

Accept the science and don’t worry about the political issues of it. That’s for ignorant a-holes

Not accusing you of anything here; just saying my piece. Too much pissing and moaning about this; cancel the season and work to make the country healthy in 2021.

Not protesters/rioters according to Gavin Newsom's standards. The virus passes by them and only infects people in restaurants and beaches.

This could be wild.

Hess is an athletic trainer for the team.

They fired two pro personnel guys this week. Their play by play guy stepped down without comment from the team.

Edit: There is a misspelling in the tweet above I believe. Eric Schaffer is a former cap guy who was let go in January. The "Schaeffer” mentioned above is some theatre dude in Washington accused of sexual assault.

For men?   That’s hard to believe.

Yeah. It made me wonder what the average height was. This is what Google told me:

Quote
about 5 feet 9 inches

Data collected from the federal Centers for Disease Control show that average height for Americans has stabilized in the past 50 years to about 5 feet 9 inches for men and 5 feet 4 inches for women.Jan 7, 2006

I follow this dude on Twitter. Claims to be an NFL scout.

So what happens if the season is cancelled? They all walk next year?

I’d be shocked if nothing comes out before morning on the Washington situation. Seems like someone is going to drop the bombshell news to be the first to report it

I’m guessing it’s tied to something like they still get paid if they decide to opt out, so they are trying to cover all the bases as much as they can.

Gotta be some wild accusations and people afraid of libel/slander

The Washington Perverts might fit a little too nicely.

On a serious note, it's disappointing that there are so many dirtbags in the world.

Ah makes sense now.

As fun as it is to watch a rival fall apart I'm not sure we should be too excited for Snyder to get canned (if he does).  In the past 20 years since he took over the Redskins have 9 4th place finishes in the NFC East, 7 3rd place finishes and exactly 2 post season wins in wildcard rounds only the most recent one being 2005. He has run that team into the ground.

That being said if it's something real bad then F em. I'll happily point and laugh as he's shown the door.
