Disagree.  NBA, NHL and MLB all had and have had plans in place.  NFL is set to open camps in two weeks and you still hear nothing.

You can disagree.  But, merely having a plan isn't enough to say that a group isn't ill-prepared.   Take MLB, for example, their plan included a bit of a labor war.  And we still don't know how their situation will ultimately play out.  Play with a mask, or without.  Wear the mask everywhere else.  What about batting?  What about spitting (yes, spitting... baseball players do it constantly... they banned it...but what are the penalties if a player does it?)  The NBA has a plan.  And their players aren't following it.  Breaking the bubble should be grounds for expulsion from the bubble.  But, nah... its just more quarantine.  That's not that big a penalty.  The NHL likely has the best shot.  They didn't have a money dispute, they don't have players complaining about their accommodations or breaking quarantine, etc.  We'll see how they do as they move to their sites.

The NFL had the longest time to get it together, but they also have the hardest task.  A TC roster is 90 players and who knows how many staff, coaches, etc.  That's nuts... 6 feet apart, in the locker room... no showers?  Show up to the stadium dressed?  Some of the things put out that they were considering are ludicrous, but part of that is because with 53 dressed on game day, they can't socially distance in the locker room, or really on the sidelines, and definitely not on the field.  Baseball is a maybe a third of that many people... and only half on the field in a game.  Basketball is the tiniest fraction of the NFL in terms of players, coaches, etc.  and they have their own struggles, despite the plan to bubble.  That's not working out great.   I just don't see how any plan could exist that will allow these sports to get underway and finish what they have planned.  Maybe 2 of the 4 manage it, but there will be major issues even if they do complete the season.

So, yeah, the NFL sucks.  They don't have a plan at all, it seems.   But, that would be pretty fitting with a lot of organizations right now.  Colleges can't figure out how they are going to get back in the Fall, local school districts are scrambling.  Businesses are in disarray.  No one was really ready for this, and even months into it... there's still a lot of uncertainty and unknowns lurking around every corner.  Back in the spring, someone, I forget who, predicted that it would get much worse before it gets better.   Looks like we are heading that way, and rapidly.     I don't see an NFL season, MLB finishing their season or the NBA finals playing out as currently planned.  The NHL... they have the best shot, but even that seems like a far-fetched idea right now.   We can complain about the NFL's lack of a plan, but I don't know what plan would make a sport that has players literally butting heads together over and over and over for 3 hours is going to work.  Everyone dresses in hazmat suits?

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

My son is a rocket scientist. He has a BS in aeronautical engineering from Penn State. Rooms with two astrophysicists.  All are young and working. Probably all will get an MS and it will be funded by the government or if they go private, a private employer.  AE is the hardest engineering field to even qualify to take in college.  He has friends working at a number of the space companies like Space X, Virgin Gallactic, Boeing, Lockheed. Dobbs is a trained space scientist.   Sounds like he will be the type to intern in the offseason.  Don’t sell his education short. He is a very smart kid.

Note that NASA doesn’t hire a lot.  Most are contractors.

I can't imagine the qualification process for Space X just based on how popular of a job/company it must be for those in that field. Especially for younger kids. I read Musk's book a few years ago and apparently he's very quirky with his interview process. I don't know how hands on he is with it now though.

Didn't know Yannick signed the tag. I thought he was going to hold out

That's the news? I honestly figured that happened around the league daily since the beginning

Wow. Kind of thought players knew and were just keeping silent until announcement. So the league really doesn't know what they're going to do. They need to figure it out soon. There's so many factors that need to be addressed

Will players risk their health to play if the league decides to go ahead and have the season?

It might be better to cancel just because they don't have a plan. Don't know what that'd do to contracts and players getting their money but it's probably for the best

The league has been leaking things about their proposed plan for weeks. The NFLPA has been responding. Sure looks like they are both seek concessions. That is why the plan hasn’t been released.

I would say , all things considered,  electrical and chemical are two hardest engineering majors.

Better hope your QB doesn't get it. That could kill a season

Or hope you have Nick Foles or a dynamic back up waiting.  Also may need to increase the number of players that can be removed from IR, or just not have a limit of 2 for this season.

Probably why Howie invested such serious draft capital in a backup

Long hours.  Very tough work environment. Lots of turnover from what I understand.

He's just making fun of the awkward/vague wording.

Nothing is confirmed yet.  Rumors have been pretty wild so far but still just whispers until the article hits.

Ok I was going to say have I lost it?   Can I no longer understand the English language.  My sarcasm meter is just off.

If it's a tweet from Solak or Kist, it's gonna be sarcasm like 95% of the time.

Based on this post, the jury is still out on whether or not you understand the English language.

Where did you read something about other teams and bribing refs?

Not sure about that. I’d probably give the nod to Hurts. It’s telling that the team keeps Suds at 3rd string.

Haven't seen him at 3rd string anywhere. Everything I heard from Doug was that Suds is the backup

Yup

Out of curiosity, who is your team?

Oxford United, once owned by Ghislaine Maxwell's father, aka the Bouncing Czech, before he took a swim in the med off of the boat named after his daughter...  Had a rather painful Monday evening.  Such is life tho

If I recall correctly, a certain recent Eagles Hall of Famer inductee, not the one this year but the one with a rousing speech, had a gumar or two in Atlantic City.  But he wasn't the only Eagle of that generation who partied hard there and it's fairly prevalent in sports where even the most saintly players are sinners.  But the money they pay endures silence and repeat business is profitable.

Some players have steady visitors in each city and they tend to get around too.  STDs in sports can be a bit of **** once you know who slept with who.

Mucky, it is.
