I think it's a good bet that significant things were left out of the article.

I’m sure. Given that only one would go on the record by name, it probably got cut down a lot by the lawyers.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

A 'bubble' that will have to be put into place in nearly 30 different cities around the country, with full cooperation from the local authorities and service industries, and maintained for multiple months.

Why is that so hard to imagine in a multi billion dollar industry? Local authorities? Teams have security. They just need to find a hotel, which should be empty right now with travel limited, and rent it out for 4 months. Marriott would probably be thrilled to make a deal with teams. They are losing millions right now and would probably love to make a deal. Throw in free advertisement as the official hotel of the NFL and they may get it for almost nothing.

The Eagles used to stay at the Courtyard in Jersey. I'm sure one of their models with kitchens would take care of most needs. Rent the entire thing out and have their security secure the premises. Team captains work to keep players in check. If they leave for unauthorized reasons they get a massive fine.

It's all about entitlement. Military members leave their family for months to go live in a tent in a desert. Players making millions can seclude themselves with or without their families for a few months to make more money than most will see in their lifetimes. If young kids in the military can do it so can NFL players. I'm sure exceptions can be made for Thanksgiving and Christmas/birthdays/whatever where the family quarantines for an amount of time prior to them coming home. Bottom line is it's messy, but it can be worked out.

Camp starts in like 10 days. About time for rookies to sign. 8 more rookies to go?

They can't unless NFLPA files a grievance.

Well, technically they could, but then it would be similar to them holding out and they would be fined.

And these guys have UberEats and GrubHub.    Gotta have more discipline than the NBA... with about 5-6 times as many involved.

That's what I was meaning. Though it'd be to protect their health. I assume there's some type of clause or something that would prevent fines?

Not until they come to an agreement on some type of opt out

I really hope the NFL doesn't follow the blueprint of MLB.

On the good news front, Mad Men is on the IMDbTV app.  Was bummed when it left Netflix, now I can watch it free again albeit with commercials.

LOL for sure. It will be complicated, but that comes with making millions. Again, if kids in the military making 40k a year if they are lucky can leave their families for 6 months players can find a way to deal with it. Schools may be empty. They could always put them in dorms like training camp too. The NFL has the money and connections to make it work.

Honestly, during the football season they really only have Monday to themselves anyway. Outside of the off day they should be at the NovaCare watching film or at practice. Probably won't happen, but it won't be for lack of options.

Wife and I saw Super 8 last night on Prime.  Wow.  Did Stranger Things creators have any original ideas?

Why would you guys do that?

Never heard of Super 8.  I loved Stranger Things.  Are you implying they ripped everything from this show?

Some similarities.  And I’ve read Stranger Things has resembled other shows and movies.  To be fair.  I have enjoyed the show.  Mostly for nostalgia.  Not as much for the alien nerd ish.

That's my exact reason for liking it.  Alien/supernatural stuff does nothing for me.  Nostalgia is huge for me.

Is Super 8 good?

The article isn't good, but I was expecting it to be much worse than that with how much everyone was hyping it.

In its current form, it was a completely unnecessary article. It basically talks about things that you can witness, and maybe even likely experienced in just about every workplace everywhere.

Twitter last night sounded so much deeper like blackmail, intimidation and terroristic threats, actual sexual assault. And wide ranging from team execs, including the owner and players, branching all the way out to media. Where are the stories of multiple media personnel trading sex for access and inside scoops? Where are any stories that could possibly relate to Josh Norman's tweet about media members watching what they say because so many of them were involved. I specifically saw LaCanfora's name involved last night in another tweet. Where are the stories of threatening lives for saying anything? Saw that tweeted last night too.

This story is nothing. Yeah, harassment is something. But this is basically no different than any workplace anywhere.

There has got to be. But if they had to take so much out they maybe shouldnt have even bothered. This was whittled down to basically nothing.

No

One mini series that fascinated me was the Ted Bundy Tapes on Netflix.  Growing up in the 80s I had always heard his name but never knew what he did.  It's amazing how women flocked to him despite him being a serial killer.  It really interests me to see how much times have changed and how detective work was done in the 70s.

Stranger things is great, if one was an 80s kid cant beat the nostalgia, i agree.

Ted bundy is infamous in Utah. I used to go to the mall as a kid that he attempted to abduct one of his victims at and she got away and testified against him.

There are 3 different ted bundy shows right now.

The bundy tapes, the the one with zach efron as bundy, then a docudrama told from bundys girlfriend and her daughter.

Also if you like those type of shows id recommend , my friend dahmer, written and told by one of dahmers high school friends.

I watched the Efron movie after watching the tapes and it did an OK job tying it all together. I enjoyed it.  I didn't start the Amazon one yet.

Speaking of nostalgia and I'm going to contradict my previous no aliens comment but I just started to watch Alf on IDMb🤣
