I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Ted bundy is infamous in Utah. I used to go to the mall as a kid that he attempted to abduct one of his victims at and she got away and testified against him.

There are 3 different ted bundy shows right now.

The bundy tapes, the the one with zach efron as bundy, then a docudrama told from bundys girlfriend and her daughter.

Also if you like those type of shows id recommend , my friend dahmer, written and told by one of dahmers high school friends.

Zodiac as well. It's not a documentary but a good detective movie that apparently was pretty accurate to how they actually investigated the Zodiac killings in the 60s/70s.

Long story short, cap is based off league wide revenue. No fans/canceled games drops revenue so cap goes down

Didn't think 1 season would do that much of a drop

Zodiac was really good.  A bit long but really good movie.

A sneaky good movie that has nothing to do with these true stories in my mind is Mr. Brooks with Kevin Costner.  Seeing Dane Cook axed is always good.

There's lots that grow up in areas and aren't fans of those teams

Who are we looking at?

Edit: oh, Bruce Willis.

Bruce Willis I think. Also if the cap drops that much next year we are screwed.

Anyone remember this gem of an amusement park?

Lack of fans, and all the money they make off fans, plus decreased sponsorship and other things it’s a conservative estimate each team doesn’t bring in around $70M each. So you are looking at around 2.5 - 3 billion dollars lost

Here I was thinking the NFL had money in the bank and could take the loss of one season

Figures are from 2018, but Dallas's operating income was $420 million. Top five was rounded out by NE, HOU, PHI, NYG. And then you have teams in the lower end making around $50-$70 million. With significantly less revenue coming in this year, I'm sure teams like Oakland, Cleveland, Green Bay, Tennessee, and others near the bottom will lose money this year. These figures also don't take taxes into consideration.

Just so we’re clear.  You didn’t like Super 8?  Not sure if your feelings on the subject are clear.

Did not like it

Stranger Things was good. The last season wasn't as good as the first 2 IMO though

Bradham ever sign anywhere? Figure he’s definitely worth bringing back.

Yeah. Kevin Bacon grew up in Philadelphia and isn't an Eagles fan.

That doesn’t really have anything to do with anything. They obviously have money in the bank and can survive it, but when they collectively agree to a salary cap based on revenue from the year prior, and something unprecedented and unexpected like 2020 happens, they are left with the consequences. That’s why both sides are negotiating a compromise. And in any case, it’s pretty obvious it’s the players union that pushed for a cap tied to revenue, not the NFL.

Well, the owners want a salary cap and the players don't. If you're negotiating under the premise that there's a salary cap, how else would you figure out the cap if not tie it to revenue

The point I was going for is it’s not just up to the NFL to foot the bill in this arrangement. It’s not practical but theoretically they could agree to a fixed schedule with a certain percentage increase every year. Then the risk would solely be on the owners.

Wife and I saw Super 8 last night on Prime.  Wow.  Did Stranger Things creators have any original ideas?

The scene in which Elle Fanning acts her part is for me one of the magic moments in cinema.

The ideal scenario is definitely an agreement between both parties.

Players & owners both get upside of sharing revenue. Owners get upside/downside of franchise value, but given that the vast majority of teams own the stadiums/land, they're able to generate extra revenue that the players can't (ex: soccer games at Lincoln Financial Field). The owners should have to pay for more of the downside, as they already have benefited from more upside.
