Why would it seem that way? It seems like they wanted 53 to do it and Howie said no.

It seemed to me that they asked for something more than Howie was willing to give up.

It seems that they were trying to trade UP for a CB.  It seems that CB was a need for Dallas.  It seems like Atlanta didn't want to play along with what the EMB folks wanted.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Dallas sucks and I Fing hate them, but they draft a lot better than the Eagles do. I'll give them that much.

I think their roster is more talented than ours at the moment. We have the advantage in coaching. This division will be a dog fight.

Dallas does draft some good players, but they have no heart. When the pressure is on they fold.  Having 1 position stacked, and other positions neglected rarely works out though.

I think the best hope was San Francisco but that would’ve needed someone to take Kinlaw before 14. Once that happens Denver wasn’t trying to trade out and I don’t think Atlanta was either and if either one of those teams were going to they were gonna make you pay a kings ransom

Which is exactly what I've been saying.

Shanahan has me feeling a lot better about my love for Aiyuk.

That makes me want to watch him again. I tried, but didn’t see it. Wanted to, too. Once the dust settles I want to re-look because I was adamant about not wanting him and the fact you feel so strongly and Shannahan said that, I’d like to look again.

It’s not impossible. But IF (big if) Desean stays healthy, JJAW becomes serviceable, Ward stays the same or gets a little better, Reagor plays to his talent and we get another WR who can play, especially with some speed, with our RB and TEs, our offense is pretty darn solid. There’s some speed in that scenario and plenty of size. Our defense needs some help. But the offense has lots of potential, albeit lots of question marks. KC has proven talent across the board. They’re the more talented for sure. But if things go right, we could be pretty good. But lots of "ifs”.

The fact KC is bringing back hill, kelce, Watkins, hardman and robinson and added helaire is just ridiculous. They need corners and help along the oline but man the weapons they provide mahomes who is great anyway is just ridiculous.

I think I forgot to post this earlier when I said "how can you watch this and not get excited”.. 😳

They have a good QB, a very good offensive line, a very good front 7 on defense, and a coach who has won a Super Bowl before. Granted, I'm not big on McCarthy, but he has as many rings as Doug does. Dallas is a good team. They have flaws just like we do. But they're strong in the areas that matter right now except corner. But we won a Super Bowl without great corners, so it varies.

The OL is over-rated, especially now that Frederick is gone.  In addition to CB, they have no safeties.  And the team will be learning a new offense without a real off-season.

Dallas still sucks.

Aiyuk landed in the best spot he could. That offense is great for him.

Saw some people talking about laviska going to the Giants tomorrow.

Another nightmare scenario. Lol

I mean it's not like it was some huge secret, if we can see how bad we were at WR you have to assume other teams knew.

That’s my point. Your pick should never be that obvious, especially if you are picking at 21

I think people are discounting the fact that both of those teams needed to want to move. And then on top of it atlanta was going to use the leverage of Dallas is going to get lamb if you don’t pay us this so we’re gonna make you pay more just so you don’t have to see lamb two times a year for the next decade. There were so many things on the side of Atlanta as leverage to ask for 53 and maybe even more than that which made it nearly impossible to do that trade. They had so much leverage to make you give up more than that pick was worth normally on the draft chart.

They don’t have a great D-Line and their secondary blows. Not to mention they lost their second best o-lineman and technically don’t have a QB right now.

I just don’t get why you’d use a first round pick on Lamb to essentially replace Randall Cobb. You just signed Cooper to be the #1 for awhile and Gallup is your deep threat... in an offense whose RB will be the focal point.

Frank Duffy liked the pick

Matt Miller of Bleacher Report didn't

Jeremiah wasn't a fan

Lou Riddick wasn't a fan, he liked Aiyuk a lot

Sheil Kapadia liked it

Just throwing out some opinions of guys I've gathered.

As we all know the only opinion that matters is ESP's 😉

The NFC in my opinion is way tougher conference then the AFC right now. It’s going to be a dogfight imo.

They have been for 10-12 years

That would make me sad. Frankly the giants have bigger need then WR to be honest. They could use help along the DL and LB and safety.

I disagree about their offensive line. We shall see, right now I think they are better than the Eagles, let's see how things look in August. If we even have an NFL season.

Thinking that ATL wanted to move up to get Henderson at CB and, after not making that work, they had no interest on moving down and missing on the #3 CB on their list.

I think the disparity is large now then it has been in a while. At least for a while you had the patriots and colts. Then patriots and Steelers, ravens and broncos. Right now it feels an awful lot like chiefs and that’s the extent of the elite teams.

I never say never but I think you would’ve had to pay a kings ransom for them to even consider doing it

They took the best player on their board, generally speaking I think that's the best way to draft. They didn't reach for a need. Jane Slater reported he was the 6th best overall on their board.

Before mahomes this year it was how many years in a row the afc was represented in the SB by either Brady, manning or Roethlisberger? Maybe 20? Besides one year with Flacco. That’s very little parity.

Teams are going to dip into this wr class. The Ceedee pick bothers me. I hope Jalen blows him away over the next decade.

I’d argue still had 3 hall of fame QBs in there for years competing throwing in ravens and random chargers good season with rivers. To me the disparity from upper echelon in afc to nfc wasn’t nearly as wide as it is now. Who is there now? Have watson with O’Brien and Lamar jackson and mahomes and the chiefs. I’d argue the ravens and texans imo arent elite like those manning, roethlisbeger and Brady patriots teams

Perhaps but what percentage of offensive snaps does Lamb play next year? 60-70%? They could have gone for a cb or safety who would play 100% of the defensive snaps (if healthy).
