Exactly, while you don't want to see a good player go to a rival, it's not like he was sitting there at 21 and we passed. That wasn't our turn to pick.

You wouldn't know it by some of the reactions I'm hearing and reading.  Apparently people know what Atlanta was asking for...

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

As much as we hype up the 1st round guys, check out the WR from 2nd/3rd round in recent years:

Davante Adams (53), Juju Smith Schuster (62) Michael Thomas (47) Godwin (84- fml), Courtland Sutton (40), Golladay (96), Tyler Boyd (55)

Would be nice to hit on one.

Howie basically said giving up 53 wasn’t worth it for Ruggs or Lamb

I’d call it "a luxury they couldn’t afford.”

I’m sorry... I know it’s highlights and he had some drops and some questionable blocking effort. But I don’t see how you can watch this and not see everything you want to see in a WR. It’s littered with explosion. More "go up and get it” catches over defenders than any other WR in this draft. Huge vertical, concentration and "my ball” mentality on contested catches, and at about 6:45 you see a couple Desean clone plays. One burning on a deep post like that one against Wash, and a punt return almost identical to the meadowlands miracle, minus the drop. The kid isn’t just explosive and fast, he plays big. I couldn’t be happier with the pick. Most complete WR in the draft. My concerns aren’t his hands. It’s his attitude. I didn’t live his interviews and I don’t love the blocking effort. But I love the skills he shows. Not as fast as Ruggs, not the route runner Jeudy is, and not as big as Lamb. But is more complete than any of them. If I’m wrong, I’ll devour crow. I’ll never pound the table so hard for a WR again. But I don’t think I’m wrong. I think he’ll complement Wentz and Doug perfectly. I may not even whine at bubble screens anymore. 😂

See I really like the prospect, but I also preferred Lamb and Jeudy and liked a few others (Ruggs, Jefferson, Aiyuk). What I love with Reagor is the fit. I watch and see the exact traits this offense has most lacked. I pounded the table on Reagor because the elements to his game that stood out for me are elements Wentz has not had other than one game with Desean.

It is such a natural fit. No way I would have spent a 2nd to move up for another WR.

My Two Cents on Reagor :I’m fine with the pick as of now but I need to see more at WR.  He’s a nice piece to a WR puzzle but not the answer.

They think he is. I think he is. Whether or not that proves to be true, who knows. Maybe Reagor doesn't play to his college tape leaving a bad defensive conference and going to the NFL. Maybe Jefferson proves to be a lot more than a slot guy. Maybe not. No one knows. Just saying, they better be right or they've lost all future trust in me, and they should anyone.

"They should anyone”? Woah man, not everyone has to think like you. I respect that you loved Lamb. I do. Don’t make me think something I don’t though.

For me this pick let me know that at least this year they saw things the same way I did. The same way e45 did, Green Dog did, blindside did. Anyone, pff

I think shenault Makes sense if you believe you can keep him healthy and like his versatility. He can line up at all three of the wide receiver positions. He did that at Colorado. He’s a bigger wide receiver and more physical which is made for the red zone. He has enough speed to beat you deep. Plus he can play running back at times. Colorado used him as a running back at times so you can also use him at times like teams did with ty Montgomery. Plus he gives you gadget plays like the wildcat and jet sweeps.

He reminds me of Torrey smith a ton.

I have minimal interest in seeing Reagor return punts or kicks.  Learn the WR position.  Master it.  Don't get hurt on ST.  Let Scott return.

I got your returner right heah, 4th RB or teach him how to play the slot maybe 5’9” 193 4.37

Frankly they kind of back themselves into the corner by also not drafting well at corner and WR. We’ve spent picks over the last 5 drafts prior to 2020 on jones, Douglas, maddox and only maddox is a major contributor. At wr drafted Matthews (2nd), huff (3rd), agholor (1st), hollins (4th), Gibson (5th), JJAW (2nd) and only JJAW is currently on the roster.

those two positions also have hurt future draft capital due the drafting. Were forced to give up 3rd and 5th for slay, 3rd for darby and a 3rd for tate

I'm still hoping Jones can become a starter for us, and play well. End of last year he looked a lot more confident on the field. That could be because Schwartz finally let the corners not play 20 yards off the ball or could be he's finally starting to trust his Achilles. Whatever it is if he becomes a solid player for us it changes everything.

Man, Cowboys got Lamb, Gallup and Cooper. Geezus, good luck stopping that now. Trade up for Diggs since he's really the only really good CB left.

I feel better today about the pick, I’m over the cowboys getting lamb and after seeing more of ruggs he can be the eagles tyreek hill in this offense, excited to see what day 2 brings

Which day is "tomorrow" at 2:28 am?

DJ said Reagor is his 56th rated player so it's going to be very interesting how this pans out. 😓

Frederick retired and Tyron Smith is now close to the Jason Peters play in which he's struggles with injuries, but is an elite player when fully right.

God bless you, I need to sober up and sleep on this more. But it pretty much turned out exactly what I did not want to happen. Reagor to me is a morphed creation of Freddie Mitchell and Donnel Pumphrey... So imagine my feelings right now 🤢

Sure. He also had David Montgomery over Miles Sanders (oops) last year.

I still like Justin Jefferson.

If the 53rd pick was that important to them, then ok. But they better nail the pick then. If that pick was worth so much to them that they couldn’t trade up to get the best WR in the draft, then whoever they get at 53rd needs to be a star or a 10 year starter.

You keep saying Lamb was the best WR in this draft.  That's an opinion not a fact.  A fact is two other teams wanted a WR and decided that he wasn't the best and decided to leave him on the board.  From reports, the 49ers had Aiyuk higher than him.  And even if the Eagles had Lamb higher, we dont know how much higher. It was probably far closer in their minds than yours.

Either way, I think your vitriol is all about your bet.  You look foolish now to your friend and are mad about it.  Time to let it go.  This horse is dead.

Don't mind me, I'm just nursing hangover and the eagles took the guy I did not want. I listed him here yesterday as the 1. Its unbelievable to me...

That mix would be terrible. I don’t really agree with the eval, but if you’re right I’d be disgusted.

Hoping Eagles draft Chase Claypool and saves my day...

Cowz always have sexy picks that still can't win them playoff games.  #1 in YPG last year and #6 in points per game and no playoffs.  3 playoff wins in 9 years.  Lamb makes the team harder to defend-- sure... but the trenches are where we beat them.  Look at week 16-- 47 yards for Zeke and Dak has to be the hero.  Fortify the line and get that secondary right.  SBs still won in the trenches.

With a dash of Agholor... Hey, I'm watching videos already trying to convince myself we will be ok....

I slept on it.  Could not believe they chose Reagor with Jefferson on the board.  It seems like an even worse decision this morning.  However, this is a team that just took JJAW over Metcalf.  I will expect whoever they take to be the bust of the draft as that is generally the case with their WR picks.

Reagor is small, drops a lot of passes, had a horrible catch rate at TCU and ran a 4.47 at the combine and had one of the worst 3-cone times.  Not sure how that equates to separation at the next level.  Allegedly his "play speed” is much faster.  Maybe that’s true.

It just seems like another faulty decision, where the smart teams would just take the better overall prospect.  I see Jefferson as a cant miss starter, an 80 catch type guy with no questions, who is clutch and catches everything.  Reagor to me has massive bust risk, but has upside potential if you think he can be Tyreek Hill.

I hope Reagor is awesome and they were right here, but the overwhelming likelihood to me is they just F’d this up big time.  I’m not even criticizing them for not trading up for Lamb, as I don’t know what the cost was and it may very well have been too much.  This is all about Reagor > Jefferson.  If they wanted Reagor so much I do believe they could have easily traded back.

I don’t see your doomsday scenario. Could be wrong but I think he’s a complete receiver with some + traits (explosiveness and jumping ability). Floor for me would be a better slot than Agholor. I do think he’ll be a guy we can also use on the outside. Am pretty bullish on Reagor being a good pick for us.
