Hoping the Eagles go DB in round 2. So many good options left. Diggs, Fulton, Johnson, McKinney, Delpit, Winfield. Decent chance none of them make it to 53 but who knows. I would look for a DE with YGM, Epenesa, and Lewis all still on the board, or Hennessy. I'd be shocked if Howie went back to WR already but I wouldn't be mad either.  Interested to see if Mims and Higgins continue to fall and how far.

I think the 2nd round really aligns with the Eagles need. Would have loved an extra pick this round. DB and WR are strong, and I wouldn't be upset with a DT here either.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Here's all I'll say:

I was mad, because I really liked Lamb and hate seeing him going to Dallas (sorry, but it was a stupid pick by them).

Having said that, Reagor was a good pick. He's going to be a good one. We won the division with Greg Ward as our best receiver. The one game Wentz had Jackson it was bombs away. Now he will have Jackson AND this kid? Good grief. Not too mention we will definitely add another weapon at some point. This offense is going to be fun to watch. Good luck slowing Jackson and Reagor down. If you manage to, have fun watching Sanders and the TEs murder you all game long.

As soon as Reagor toasts a secondary and throws up the peace sign, all of this negativity will vanish.

Oof. This is hard to watch

I really hated a Samuel trade pre-Reagor, but now I'd be fully on board.   4+5 for Samuel leaves 53 for a top safety, one 4th for a good LB, and one 4th for BPA (rb?).

Put it all together and things could shape up nicely.

Man, I'm with you.

Unless a CB who can compete for a starting spot falls.

One last thing on the Reagor pick / day one.

I get Eagles fans being angry that Howie didn't move up to 16 to CeeDee Lamb when he fell. I get being angry that Dallas stole him from us. We will probably never know what discussions Howie did or did not have with Atlanta. I would have moved 53 to get up there and get Lamb, but whatever. I totally get this frustration though.

What makes no sense at all and exposes a lot of Eagles fans is the outrage over passing on Jefferson for Reagor. All the majority of Eagles fans said last year was that they didn't have enough speed at WR. No playmakers for Carson. Nobody to take the top off the defense and open up the offense. Reagor is that guy, period. Even IF Jefferson becomes that guy can play both in the slot and outside, which I suspect he will. He is not that guy. He is a great route runner with sure hands. He is a volume guy. He isn't a dynamic playmaker, nor is he someone who will take the top off the defense. So when I see people say that Howie overthought this, or tried to be the smartest guy in the room, I cringe. He actually kept it extremely simple and took the type of guy we all said we needed. I just think that most people have no clue who Reagor is considering most of these same people are harping on his lack of production or 40 time at the combine. If those are two of your big knocks on him and why you think he's a reach than you don't know anything about Reagor.

Time will tell about Reagor, Lamb, Jefferson, etc. I was very consistent in saying though that Reagor was the guy the Eagles should take if they don't move up. I thought perhaps they could get him in a trade down, but if they didn't want to risk losing him I'm not going to fault them for staying at 21. Maybe the 49'ers just liked Aiyuk, but when I saw him go at 25 it took any thought I might have had that they could have moved down and still gotten Reagor.

So, trash Howie for not having the balls to move up for Lamb because  get it. Be pissed that Dallas got him,  I am too. If you think Reagor was a pick that didn't make sense though, a reach, and a massive mistake while passing on Jefferson, STFU and don't expose yourself.

People aren't talking enough about this and aren't thinking about it from the Wentz side. Wentz is good enough where he can help Reagor flourish given his skillset, even if he isn't as talented as Lamb. This isn't some volume possession receiver like JJAW. Reagor fits exactly what Wentz likes to do, which is push the ball downfield. Any shortcomings that Reagor has can be offset by Wentz's overall ability. This offense needed to get faster and they did last night.

I'd say Lamb is better than Gallup, so not so much where Lamb will play, but Gallup is the one having to look at moving inside.  Lamb was drafted to play with Cooper as the two outside receivers, and Gallup will be #3.  But if they are smart, and they will be, the will move them to get the matchup they want when they go 3 wide

Perhaps.

Thing is.. and this was repeated last night ad nauseam, Dallas had much bigger needs.  Both on defense and replacing Fitzgerald on the OL.

No.  I’m making the determination that he was drafted too high at 21.  Of course the Eagles and some of the fan base will convince themselves that he was the guy all along ....blah blah blah.  I would rather we have gotten the BPA (whoever that might have been) and filled the small wr/return guy in the 2nd.

Quite a few wanted Reagor before the pick.

What is your opinion of Reagor and the disparity between someone like Hamler?

edit:  Forget it, I see you comparing him to Tavon Austin above.

Don't disagree, but in terms of how they use Lamb, he starts at WR immediately and they figure the rest out, with the hope he quickly establishes himself as a WR1 and they can cut Cooper loose when it doesn't kill them against the cap or re-negotiate.  Lamb was definitely drafted to be the #1 in a year or two, and to play a lot right away.  As for their other needs, I hope they draft a RB in round 2, another WR in 3, and a bunch of slow, mid round TE's after that.

I hated the pick at 21.  Would have loved him in the 2nd.

Who did you want at 21? Just saying if it’s linebacker it’s never going to happen with this regime. I’d say the same thing with safety as well. They don’t value it enough to take one there.

Going with the beef brisket for the first time ever tomorrow.  I’ve smoked ribs, turkey, chicken and pork butt.  But never beef brisket.  Hope I don’t F it up.

Take your time with it.   I recommend injecting it today.  Beer is good.  Some use a light brine. The injection keeps the brisket moist.  You end up with brisket you can tear with two fingers or cut with a fork. Not to much liquid or the meat will fall apart like a corned beef can do.  Good luck. (I noticed my Giant has brisket on sale so I may grab one.). What rub will you be using?

And not sure how his tweet proves otherwise.   And Howie has proven he’s a dope at drafting.

You can knock Howie plenty of player evaluation but he is very good at understanding how the board will break.

I don't want to really argue with or criticize any Eagles fans that "hate" the Reagor pick, because I also get it.    I admit to being incredibly disappointed when (1) the Raiders took Ruggs at #12 and then (2) when Dallas took Lamb at #17.

But thanks for your comments, you really encapsulated the issue very well in my opinion.

Dallas kind of Did what I was talking about yesterday if Kinlaw fell to the Eagles. The Eagles didn’t have an overwhelming need for a defensive tackle however if he’s the best player on the board and a prospect that is that much better than the next guy you have on your board then you have to take them. You’re not gonna pass up the opportunity and a guy you think could be a star caliber player just because he’s not an immediate need

Yea, it's wrong.  He would have been gone within the next 3 picks.

Actually, with this pick, it feels like Howie finally had a chance to pick his guy.  Not Joe Douglas's guy.  Not Chip's guy.  Not Andy's guy.  HE talked about this last year.  That this was the first time Howie had been able to convince Lurie to set things up so he was going to be The Man.  Hell, having him alone in a room couldn't make it look any plainer, IMO.  Yes, I know it was because of Covid, but still...

This offense is going to look different.  I think Howie and the coaches are in lock step.  And this was the beginning.

I was actually having a Convo with don on the old board before the Eagles pick Saying I don’t think they can afford to move back and expect reagor to be on the board. Minnesota made a ton of sense for him. He gives them that speed element that they are missing since the traded diggs to buffalo. He was actually a perfect replacement for diggs. I like Jefferson but I see a lot of comparison in style of play to Adam Thielen. I’m curious to see how Minnesota makes those to work together. I think their games are very similar.
