Kempski thinks slot receiver is the priority now if they take another one. I'd argue still outside WR. DeSean won't be here long, will need someone to replace him in 2021. Can still play Ward in the slot short-term if we need to, but I'd hope they don't pass on an outside guy for a slot guy.

It depends if they are giving up on JJAW or actually think he could be the X of the future. If they take a Mims/Higgins/Pittman/Shenault/Gandy-Golden tonight they obviously aren't counting on JJAW. If they wait until the 3rd or 4th round and take someone like Duvernay, Jefferson, Bowden than obviously they still have hopes for him and want to build up the Z and slot positions. I just don't see slot as much of a need at all. All ther 12 they run means less 3 WR sets. When they do go to 3 receivers, it's often Ertz in the slot. Ward is decent, Jackson and Reagor can kick inside from time to time. It's just not a need, and why ''passing on Jefferson'' was the right move.

Honestly it depends on how they feel about jjaw. I think it’s gonna be pretty telling if they go for a slot receiver or they go for another outside wide receiver that can also play some slot. That said I wouldn’t take a slot receiver in round two. I think you can get good ones in this particular draft in around four and round five

We are in lock step here.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Jalen Reagor is going to a better offensive coaching staff than he had in college.

CeeDee Lamb is going to a worse offensive coaching staff than he had in college.

We'll see how it goes.

Amazing about lamb is somehow throughout college he played with two no. 1 picks, 2 Heisman winners and his other QB was hurts who won a natty with bama.

I hear ya... there's some technicians still going to be available though.  But, speed can cover up for technicians.

Technicians -
Round 2 - Tee Higgins
Round 3 - Van Jefferson, KJ Hill

Day 3 - James Proche, Tyler Johnson, Quintez Cephus,

Tyler Johnson is so intriguing since he was so productive, but something seems odd about him.

I’d be thrilled with Higgins, Hamler or Shenault in round 2.

As far as a slot-only WR like Hill or Proche, easy pass. Vertical slot or who cares IMO. Besides, our TEs are our slots and we rotate outside WRs in there regularly. I suspect to truly unlock Reagor, he’s gonna be a slot 20-30 percent of the time.

Sounds like he's just covering for himself for the earlier rumor

I’m just guessing.

You should have stopped there.   Howie said they wanted to hold on to their 'high picks' (he used the plural).  It seems Atlanta never seemed to be interested in trading back.  They wanted a CB.

Exactly what I thought too.

Lamb went before the Eagles pick. I get it, I wanted to move up for Lamb but assuming they blew it without knowing exactly what happened is assuming an awful lot. This thought process that trading up to get him was some sort of automatic thing is both laughable and extremely flawed. Denver wasn't trading down from 15. If you are Atlanta and you love AJ Terrell and you see Dallas and Vegas with corner needs right after you, why would you trade down to 21.

This entire premise of comparing Reagor to Lamb is a made up phantom by stupid fans who have no clue what they are talking about. He should be compared to Jefferson and Aiyuk and if they end up better than him, by all means trash the Eagles down the road. Until then STFU and see how it plays out and stop with the Lamb stuff.

I like Tyler Johnson in the late 3rd and 4th. Go look at his games when he played against the best competition. His performances were really good in bigger games. To me he’s an idiot for saying the stuff he did but when on the field in big games he showed up and balled out.

Since they already got their speed guy, I wouldn't be at all against taking Johnson, Jefferson, or Hill in the 3rd or 4th round.

Another former player that reminds me of Reagor is Hines Ward.

Reagor is much faster but that's still high praise. I get the comparison.

I don't see that even a little bit.

Hines Ward was a tenacious player without the ball in his hands, very willing blocker.  Reagor, by all accounts, is very much not interested in that part of the game.  Ward's game was about toughness, never speed.

I figured Reagor would be our pick so not upset about it at all.

Still absolutely shocked Lamb fell so far, but alas...

Did a draft watch party with some friends using the "Houseparty" app. It was a really good time. Definitely recommended during this quarantine times.

Now give me one of Mims, Edwards, Gay, Davis, or Winfield.

I will be happy with any of those guys.

Wouldn't pressing left-shift & the B button at the same time on the controller make the trade happen?

He’s also going to have the better QB throwing him the ball.

I agree with this. Im fine with ward at slot, he actually made some big plays to end the year and really improved his route running.

Id rather they get a slot later, use the 2nd and 3rd for an X or defense.

I think Tee Higgins and Michael Pittman are THE perfect compliment to Jalen Reagor. There is so much talent left on the defensive side of the ball and they should probably go in that direction. HOWEVER, if Higgins and/or Pittman are there are at 53 these two picks could set up Carson and the Eagles passing game to be successful for several years.

What's more realistic...we have a defense capable of stopping offensive juggernauts in the NFL or we have an offense loaded with talent around Carson that allows us to win shoot outs?

I really like Pittman with Reagor.  Depends what defensive talent is sitting there at 53.

Reach is the new I didn't like the pick.

I watched him a lot. Frustrating drops but he was a killer out there. His offseason was a train wreck.

I don’t know who his agent is but he did a terrible job prepping him during all this. He might be one of those guys that falls due to his lead up but winds up being super productive at the next level.

Its an offensive league, so obviously loading up on the offense especially with adding Slay and Hargrave in free agency.

People need to understand that we don’t have the inside information and intel that teams have. They have a really good idea of who’s interested in whom. Some teams are really good at hiding it, but for the most part teams tell on themselves with how much work they do on the player.

I see a strong physical resemblance. Rocked up, not particularly tall. I get your point but it's not a bad thing to have that speed. We'll see if he becomes a willing blocker but from what I've seen of him he's plenty tough.

Johnson's comments about 'pressure' are concerning.  But, yes.

Just heard Jalen's coach interview from this morning.....

It made me even more concerned about the pick. The coach straight up said that he needs be alot better at certain things. Blocking was one of them. The interview was kind of meh.

He made Jalen seem like a little bit of a project.
