So the team that went 9-7 the past two years spends a 2nd round pick on a gadget QB.....

What's worse is this means Reagor is going to suck.  Any faith I had in Howie is gone.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

How could Doug have possibly signed off on this? Are they gonna make Hurts a rb/wr? Yuckx10000

Caplan is intimating they're going to make him Taysom Hill.  Still this is a terrible pick.

If they didn't draft him to trade him, I have no idea why they would take another QB here?   A developmental QB no less.   Unless they do plan on him playing a Taysom Hill role on offense?

The last time I was this shocked Andy Reid had just announced that Juan Castillo was going to be his Defensive Coordinator.

to me, its clear this pick is all about gadgetry more than backup QB.

I think if they wanted a backup QB they shoulda went with Eason, or Gordon, even Fromm even though his ceiling is only as a backup, probably still a better QB than Hurts.

I think if Carson gets hurt for a prolonged period its Sudfeld.

Hurts was not the best QB prospect on the board, but a long shot. I think they took him for the athleticism.

But how are you going to take Carson off the field on a 3rd down, or red zone, where he excels. And watch Hurts throw a pick? Its going to happen.

Or teams will know hes running and teams will always know whats coming.

This is just horrible.

Anyone else think that the Eagles might be trying to trade Nate Sudfeld. I can’t imagine they use a second round pick to sit behind two quarterbacks for a year

Sudfeld has zero trade value.

Trade him for what?  A third round pick? We just blew our 2nd

I didn’t even like Hurts as a QB at Alabama — he’s not a good QB.

I wasn't a big Mims fan, but I hope he goes to the next 5 pro-bowls.

We need a GM.

He will go to a few. He’s a stud. This will haunt us.

for what? a pick that howie will find a way to waste. unless we are getting something really good back it might be a lose & lose even harder depending on what we get back for Sudfeld

Right after Hurts pick

Sudfeld should be able to fetch a solid 2021 7th round pick.

Jc I hate Howie

We had this with Michael Vick in 2009 and 2010.

We're going to incorporate Hurts when there might be no preseason/training camp due to Covid-19? Hell no.

The only way this will work out is if either Wentz or Hurts are trade candidates in the next 2 season.  The problem is this is  Roseman always will have a Weidl or Douglas to take the fall.

Now we get to see all these Hurts highlights throwing to CeeDee Lamb.  Keep twisting the knife.

I don't even want to watch the rest of the draft now.  This took all the excitement out of it.  The deepest 2nd round in history we hear.  Over 20 starters available.  DE, CB, LB, WR all sitting there ripe for the picking and Howie picks Hurts.  Give me a freaking break.

Thanks for the Super Bowl Howie now GTFO!!!!!

Holy hell I am physically and psychologically ill after this.

I can't watch any more.

I literally want to break something. I’m to old to break stuff!

The only way this pick would even be remotely explainable is if they planned on Hurts playing some kind of hybrid "offensive weapon" position where he was a potential QB, TE, WR, RB on any given play.     That's a reach though.

Maybe you take that kind of project with an extra 4th. Maybe. But here?  With what’s still on the board?

Now we have to go WR next. So it’ll be a reach. We need LB and S too. Now we have to hear Howie tell us Hurts was a first round grade and BPA blah.. this... wait for it.. hurts

The Saints drafted Marshon Lattimore and Alvin Kamara the year they added Taysom Hill as a udfa.

But let's just fast forward straight to round 2 to get our Taysom Hill.

This was a Doug Peterson pick all the way. Unfuuckkinreal

Close to the worst pick in franchise history? Considering the trade up option we had also. It’s close

I just can’t believe they did that. Are we actively trying to go 9-7?

Idk if I’m more angry about wasting a pick or worried about something with Wentz. I’m so flabbergasted.

It's an idiotic pick even if they had him rated as a top 10 pick.  It does nothing to help this team next season.
