It was far too soon, and far too high a pick. Also in round 2. Just like this is far too soon to draft a Wentz backup. But thats really not what Hurts is anyway. And has nothing to do with Thorson. They wanted a tinker toy on offense but shoulda gone Bowden.

All this does is add more dissension in the lockeroom. To draft a QB this high, who is a big name due to his college career, and let's be honest - not a white fundamentalist christian from North F'in Dakota is like inviting a QB controversy.

Not really. I can’t see the Eagles having three quarterbacks active on game day. They basically got Nate Sudfeld for nothing if they got like a fifth round pick for him it’s better than Nothing which they gave up to get them

They would have been better off trading the pick as a package to move up. 

They didn't draft Hurts to be a gagdet QB.  He is insurance for if Wentz gets hurt.  Why spend a 2nd round pick on a gadget QB when you already have Greg Ward.

Obviously they think he is a legit QB. The eagles have always placed a premium on the QB position — backups included.

Every single player taken after Hurts so far would have made an immediate impact on the team.  This is not an exaggeration.
