Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I’m not judging this. I’m fascinated by the thought process that went into it. It was pretty clear that Doug was into it. He and Howie had to know the pitchforks and torches would be out with the pick. How good a pick was it and why? I have no idea, but as a provocative move it gets 10/10.

Funny thing is it might be a better pick than Hurts

I’ll do my best to play devil’s advocate here somehow to try to rationalize this pick:

The guy had Kyler Murray-type stats at Oklahoma.  Everyone knows he’s not Murray, but obviously Howie and Doug (and I smell a Marty M influence on this from the Ravens offense) must see this as a high-caliber/low cost insurance policy at QB against Wentz getting injured

I’m not even succeeding at convincing myself — but this must be the thought process

Wentz would fetch huge draft capital. Could Hurts?

I know Murray and Lamar have teams enamored. Could he fetch a 1st and 3rd?

I just don't even know. The drama created is way too much.

Did Howie trade for a receiver and we just dont know yet?

This particular pick ruined the entire draft. I actually really like the reagor pick, unlike everyone else for some reason. Spend all season bishing about not having speed, draft speed, still bish.

They could not have moved up, stop saying that. Maybe they asked for our first 3 picks. You all don't know what was being asked for.

They have to absolutely nail literally the rest of their picks and this will still be a terrible draft because of what they just did.

Sounds like the biggest Wentz haters are in the NovaCare complex, not TATE, WIP, or twitter.

Could have had Hopkins for that pick, could have had Lamb in the first coupled wit this pick. Someone fire Howie please.

Why not have as many good people as possible around Carson that play the wide receiver position.  you know the position you ignored all off-season besides getting Jalen reagor last night

Huh? Foles was signed as a cheap backup. What in the hell is he talking about?

Who's starting the petition to get Belichick's Husky as the new GM

Exactly

I mean.. it’s not rocket surgery. You have holes at WR, LB and S and you take a QB in round two? If it doesn’t address team need, why do it? What’s the point. You either believe your QB is the future, like you showed when you gave him $100mil. Or you don’t. If you don’t think he can stay healthy, find one who can and don’t pay him. But don’t give up huge cap money AND a high draft pick. We’re not the Chiefs. We have needs. We chose to address depth at a position where your starter is one of the highest paid in league history.

ATL asked for our 2nd, ie Jalen Hurts. Yeah this pick could have gotten us Lamb. Think on that.

They drafted Foles in the 3rd round when they needed a QB of the future.

Then they brought in Foles for nothing to be the backup.

If you read these comments on Hurts (especially what Press Taylor says), and if you believe it's possible, the Eagles seem to want to be on the cutting edge of the next offensive wrinkle to change the NFL.

I am not defending the pick, I am just trying to figure out what the heck the Eagles are thinking.    This doesn't appear to be the next Kevin Kolb type situation.

even if this is the case, it just feels like the absolute worst time for this kind of experiment.
the team has so many needs, they’ve hit on so few picks lately, they’re going to be up against the cap, and you have a true top tier QB who can run a legit offense.
i just hate this on every level from a philosophy standpoint.
mid love to be wrong, but...

You need help

Howie take a major coronavirus financial hit and about to get busted for insider trading?

It all makes sense now.

This is terrible

Idk about anyone else but I woulda been really excited if we had Reagor and Mims going into the last 5 rounds. I’m lost.

Guess I’ll go walk the dog for the 47th time this week.
