this is up there with the Pack meaninglessly trading up for Jordan Love.  The 2 worst picks in the draft so far.  Nice job, Eagles

They will rightfully get eviscerated for this nonsense

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Joe Douglas crushing the draft is just adding salt into the wound.

It's the smartest guy in the room logic that looks neither smart nor logical. There's no positive outcome  next season where Hurts is a significant contributor.

There is no positive outcome next year where Hurts is a significant contributor?

Well, you don’t buy insurance for positive outcomes. You get insurance to mitigate negative outcomes.

And it isn’t just about next year. It’s about the 4 years of value you get from the pick. If you get a good backup who wins you a super bowl like Foles did, then would anyone complain? If he starts 4 games per season while Carson is hurt, and the rest of the time he gives Hill type production, and then you flip him for a bunch of draft picks, wouldn’t that be a win?

Like I said, it’s not what I would have done, but there is definitely some sound thinking to support the pick.

I lacked the imagination to conjure just how bad this could go. A second rounder on a player for whom the best possible outcome is he never sees the field? I have no more faith in these guys. I also don’t think Hurts can contribute at the NFL level even if we’re unfortunate enough for him to be called upon. Awful. Indefensible. I’m at a loss.

Let's trade Dillard for an extra 4th before the night is over.

Now we know Joe Douglas made all those picks while he was here

We did know that. And so, he sucks.

Now we are finding out definitively about Howie. And maybe he is a little too crazy.

Lets see what he does with the rest of the draft. If they hit on a bunch of the mid-late picks it can be salvaged pretty well.

I hate to say this because I like Hurts and he seems like a good kid. That being said, this might be THE worst pick in the history of the franchise. The fact that it makes no sense what so ever and Doug and Howie think it's such a great pick just makes it so much worse.

Gibson goes to the Skins now. This is one of the worst drafts I have seen for the Eagles.

The divison got way way better.

We could barely beat them last year. Giants too. We won’t be this year. No way we just sweep them both

Douglas is drafting some damn explosive athletes.  Perhaps Howie has been the problem.

Jordan love was a first round talent and Rodgers is on the decline. Neither applies to this pick.

At least A-Rod is on the back 9 of his career and has had more injuries that Carson.  You can actually say they were looking forward.  This though....this is a mother effing joke.

Hurts is about to get booed worse than McNabb did. No one in Philly wanted him.

No offense to Doug but he was also happy with Clayton Thorson last year

No offense taken.  Just an observation.  Hopefully, he turns out much better

All the boo's should be saved for the GM.

Adam Caplan didn't see this one coming. That's the only good thing to come out of this pick. Go ahead and tell all the fans how stupid we are now you arrogant ****.

FFS I don't like the pick either but the meltdowns on here are ridiculous.

I’m not judging this. I’m fascinated by the thought process that went into it. It was pretty clear that Doug was into it. He and Howie had to know the pitchforks and torches would be out with the pick. How good a pick was it and why? I have no idea, but as a provocative move it gets 10/10.

This is Drama 101.

This team about to go two TE sets, full on Lamar Jackson offense. Reagor is the Marquise Brown.

OK I'm going to play devil's advocate and defend the pick.

If this gives is the final straw and puts someone new in charge of the draft, perhaps it was one of the best 2nd round picks we've made?

Doug looked pretty happy with the pick. I put this as much on him as Howie. No chance Doug wasn’t in on the decision.

You can debate the Reagor pick, but at least it was within the framework of accepted team building.

This is an example of arrogance, that they know more than the other 31 teams.

a Howie reach-around special until it Hurts. Far fetched, wasting nice draft position with impunity like he is throwing the draft

Damn, Douglas got A****n Davis? Maybe Howie was holding him back. Damn.

No this is the rare occasion where they are appropriate.

"Eagles QB Carson Wentz has requested to be traded."

..  is what I expect next.

I'm so confused.

Howie didn't even trade down to draft the QB!
