In what way? You don't like the pick, you complain about it the way you want to and let others release their stress the way they want to.

Yeah, no. "I'll never cheer for him!". "we should trade the rest of the draft for Gettleman!" That's not a valid version of stress relief, it's a toddler throwing a hissy fit.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

And if you can win 3 because you have receivers that a quarterback can count on that's not great return?

I never said that.

Hot take: Wentz doesn't throw another pass for the Eagles between Covid this year, injury and/or trade the next.

The only return we are going to get for Hurts is a comp pick 4 years from now.

Honestly it does feel like one of those picks for the Eagles where they think they are the smartest person in the room. This could (probably likely) winds up eventually catching back up to them where it blows up in their face where somebody around that picK that they could’ve had and made an immediate impact winds up being a really good player and you have a back up quarterback to Carson Wentz for three years.  then you’re going to have to trade him to somebody or he’s gonna walk after year four

There is a 100% chance this happens.

Is it a terrible message to Desean to draft Reagor? Come on — this is the NFL. You need depth, you need competition. If competition breaks a player’s will, then they are in the wrong business.

DeSean is old and on the decline, at a position where you can have up to 5 guys on the field. Wentz is in his prime at the premier position in the league where only one guy plays at a time.

You mean like that time we drafted a TE with our top pick to back up our pro-bowl TE?

?

Goedert was a great pick.

I hate this line of thinking. Maybe that means the Eagles got the QB prospect the other teams wanted. It’s not like teams just pick off a list of QBs, and when one goes you just take the next best one.

But yeah, still dumbfounding.

No punters or kickers available?

Howie probably looking at the division knowing we can compete for the playoffs but not truly compete for the SB for 2-3 years.  He's riding his SB security and I don't like it.

Howie's press conference made it even worse. I mean we knew there was no explanation but I was hoping at least for a modicum of some rationale. We got nothing other than apparently they view themselves as some glorified farm system to develop QBs and trade them off to other teams.

(for what likely will be no more than a 2nd rounder anyway)

After listening to that press conference, Howie should be fired

So, when do they get a LB? When do they get another CB or S? WR, QB, then WR. I don't get that man.

I would rather give wentz weapons and see the defense lag another year than have to suffer through that Fing miserable offense we had to watch last year.

If he has the opportunity to be great it means we'll be trading Wentz.

Yup. And means they wasted money signing Wentz. They responded to critics of signing Wentz due to injury history by saying "we believe in him to stay healthy.” Then make a move that says "we don’t trust him to stay healthy.” Which is it? If you don’t trust him, don’t pay him. If you do, then get a backup late or keep Sudfeld. Once teams pay their QB big money, every draft pick needs to hit and contribute. You passed on contributors for a backup plan for the guy you paid to trust. Talking out of both sides of their mouths. And they picked him about where he was projected. Not like Hurts fell later than expected. It makes no sense

Having insurance on a corvette when you own a Benz but have a dump of a house and can barely pay your mortgage/rent is dumb!!!

How is the house "a dump?”

How can we "barely pay the rent?”

We have a good roster. We have cap space. You’re acting like this team is coming off a 3 win season instead of a division title.

You don't use a 2nd round pick on insurance when there's other glaring needs.  Sure they need insurance but a 2nd round pick is too expensive a premium.

Unless their concern for Carson's durability is much much higher than they've let on.

we are trading wentz in two seasons..  howie DOES NOT want to give him a second contract.  wentz WILL win enough games (if not a super bowl) to demand breaking the bank.  the hurts pick ensures howie can offload wentz (get a ransom in return to a team REALLY in need), and have hurts take over.  and oh yeah, howie can lowball hurts on a contract as he hasn't really been playing much.

You trade Wentz and

And unfortunately for Wentz, he’s been hurt every season meaning he isn’t that one guy on the field.

Yea that presser just amplifies my anger.  Arrogance all around.

Howie saying this draft isn't for the short term makes me think this is the thought process:

1. Develop Hurts

2. Showcase Hurts in high probability plays

3. Trade Hurts by 2022 for a kings ransom

I for sure think that’s the plan.

However there’s a lot of downfalls that can go wrong with that plan. He could wind up not looking very good when he does play. On top of that teams might not see him as great in three years to give up a kings ransom. You might just get back what you took him for. And to me that’s three years you just developed him and all you got out of it was the same second round pick (or less) which you drafted him with is not good value.  I would be shocked if somebody gave them a kings ransom pick for Jalen hurts in three years. And even if that’s the plan because you have drafted so poorly at corner and at wide receiver and had to give up draft picks because of your ineptitude at drafting those positions you were not in the luxury department to draft a quarterback and play it out to get that kings ransom. They did not have the luxury with all the holes that they have due to the misses at corner and misses at wide receiver and bad trades Where they lost capital

Goedert was a great pick.

Was he?  Goedert over DJ Chark?

How many quality guys who would pencil into defined roles in the starting lineup do we need to pass up for cute formations with high picks backing up probowlers?  Because we have done it twice now.

I wouldn't mind dpj
