Howie's press conference made it even worse. I mean we knew there was no explanation but I was hoping at least for a modicum of some rationale. We got nothing other than apparently they view themselves as some glorified farm system to develop QBs and trade them off to other teams.

(for what likely will be no more than a 2nd

The best presser is yet to come when he talks about the three 4th round picks that they chose had 2nd round grades, so essentially the ended up with 4 2nd round picks.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

If any player in the NFL is a necessity, it’s QB.

Look, in a perfect world you have Brett Farve who plays every snap for two decades. Wentz has proven he’s not that guy.

So we have a very talented but often injured QB. We need insurance. If the eagles think Hurts can become a good NFL starting level QB, there is plenty of rational thinking to make the pick.

Nah

It's fun to be a team like Denver on paper-- but Sutton, Fant, Hamilton, Jeudy, Hamler is overkill.  They need a better OL for Lock.

If they think they are so good at developing QBs, why not just sign Jameis Winston and try and develop him and then trade him off? Wouldn't cost you a draft pick.

Sign him to a short term deal - he plays well enough to get a payday elsewhere and boom you get a comp pick.

Just stop TEW no one should be representing the teams side of this abortion

I fully support trading all of our draft picks for proven vets so that this brain trust can't use them on draft night.

Should have traded the second round pick for Samuel.

Thank goodness we somehow won a SB.

Cuz it dont look like we'll be there anytime soon.

Every GM is having a better draft than Howie.

Every single person that posted a mock draft in here is having a better draft than Howie

you are completely crazy

show me where the eagles have not used qb's as trade bait for getting some high draft picks.  the most recent was bradford.

jalen hurts is CLEARLY not gonna play enough (at least we hope not), to draw that much in return in terms of a trade.  if he won't get that much from a trade who will?  wentz.  and we know howie likes making team friendly deals as far as contracts.  a second contract for wentz would NOT be team friendly.  not with his skill and his ability.  it's in howie's best interest to get as much for wentz in two years or before he is due another contract.

having hurts puts the birds in a future position to (in howie's mind) be able to move wentz.

i'd be shocked if howie gives wentz a second contract.  he could, but that would be a chunk of the cap and they just drafted a qb in the second round with a skillset to run the offense of the head coach.

I'd have traded it to Oakland for Agholor.

Had to join the new board to commiserate on this pain

What an embarrassing night. Humiliating. Very thankful that we got lucky in 2017 because this organization is an attention-seeking $&@!show that cant get out of its own way to put together good teams.

Hurts for Fournette

It’s really amazing to me that most of the fan base seems to have forgotten that we won the super bowl with a backup QB.

The entire league is leaving us in the dust

only one thing over the last 2 nights more annoying than this pick.....................................enough about the corona virus, we have to live with it all day, don't need to hear about it all night.

Does anyone even care who we take at #103? Call it a day week

absolutely. Theres no chance the GM just does this without a coach coming and saying lets get in on some of that 2 QB action.

Seems rather risky with your 2nd, cooler heads should prevail ... Howie. So he’s an option RB or are they yanking Carson out some plays depending on the situation ?
