Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

they have NOT lost faith in wentz, but they have added the ability to move on from him.  think about what you just said, they just signed him to a mega extension.  how much do you think howie likes giving those big contracts?

with hurts, the eagles gave themselves the ability to move on from wentz when he will eventually require another big contract / extension.  it's not a knock on wentz showing they don't believe in him any more.  it's them saying "yes, we know you are good..  and we DO NOT want to afford you when your next contract comes around".  and howie knows he'll get a boatload in a wentz trade.  saving $$$ AND getting draft capital?  how can that NOT make howie damn near orgasm.

What?  Going from Wentz to Hurts is like Fonzi going from banging Pinky Tuscadero to jumping a shark

Seems like Mayock has a plan... Z, slot and X (and a corner to boot).

Ah, a GM with a plan.  Must be nice.

Dallas is killing the draft.  I hate it.

Las Vegas (weird) is drafting the weapons Carson deserves.

Vegas going to have all those weapons and Derrick carr and mariota are still going to be bums

Please stop.  Even in 2023 Wentz is a $15M dead cap hit to move on from.

Wentz is #1.  Hurts is now #2.  That will not change anytime soon, despite what you will hear in the national media who have an agenda to stir controversy

Wentz is 0 cap hit if he retires.

Mike Mayock has approached the WR position the way I hoped that Howie would.

😒

yup.  Though, he did have more ammunition to do it with, because he traded away Mack and Cooper.

And the Cowboys get Gallimore.

Poor Howie

I think Wentz has mentioned retirement. Only reason to take Hurts.

Are you serious? When?

Howie’s plan is to draft all the Jalens and a qb’s last name That rhymes with Ertz.

If he retires I guess drafting our next starting QB in Round 2 for $1.15M looks pretty great

Hurts is absolutely a high character kid.   So, he's going to say the right things, do the right things... he's not going to cause waves.  He's like a Foles 2.0 in that respect.

And there goes Cushenberry...

I meant after him getting yet another injury in the playoff game, maybe they lost faith that he'll ever stay healthy and even if they believe in his ability they don't believe in his availability.

It's still a horrible pick, but unless they are total Fing morons, how could they make this pick for any other reason? Their explanations didn't even make sense. "Surround Wentz with great players" what??? He won't even play with Wentz, minus a few plays a game at most if they use him like Taysom Hill.

Yes, I get it.  I know the Eagles didn't have 3 Top 85 picks.

But going into the draft I was hoping Howie would go #21, #103, and a 4th or 5th with WR's, or 2 WR's and one of the RB/WR hybrids.    But 3 skill level players with speed and athleticism added to the offense.

Interesting that Las Vegas announced Bowden as a RB.

What a horrific conversation we’re having.

Organizational changing conversations. Every options sounds miserable.

How long until morons start screaming for Hurts? You know as soon as Wentz had a bad game it'll happen.

Watch.  They will play multiple QBs in the same game, and at the same time.   It's coming.

Gadget plays? Where we line Wentz up at WR and he does nothing?
How about we just snap it to our best player? F’ing A. Smh.

Gabriel Davis  @ 103? Maybe K'von Wallace or Davion Taylor if they go defense.

Let's just hope Amik Robertson is there at 103 at this point.

you DO NOT draft a qb in the second to do nothing with him.  howie and doug are not gonna let hurts just be their gadget qb that they will let walk after his rookie deal.

it's not controversy.  i actually see it more as a confirmation of how good wentz actually is.  i think wentz will play well enough to be able to demand a big second contract which the birds will not want to afford.  this is why hurts was drafted.

Also, where is all this "Wentz might retire" coming from? People speculating for fun?

Anyone else starting to think the draft should get delayed?
