Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

you DO NOT draft a qb in the second to do nothing with him.  howie and doug are not gonna let hurts just be their gadget qb that they will let walk after his rookie deal.

it's not controversy.  i actually see it more as a confirmation of how good wentz actually is.  i think wentz will play well enough to be able to demand a big second contract which the birds will not want to afford.  this is why hurts was drafted.

You keep saying this.  They already gave Wentz a second contract.

F this team

What would you rather do at backup QB?

Nate Sudfeld stinks; people need to face that fact.  He lost his job to a 42-year-old semi-retired McCown.

I personally would have just gone Flacco for a year. They took and wasted a 5th rounder last year on a qb. Now it was just a 5th but he didn’t even look promising when drafted or in camps. I’d have been fine with sudfeld or Flacco for a year and nabbing a developmental guy in round 4-6

Jake Fromm or Khalil Tate at 103?

EDP445 went straight suicidal on his livestream.

Flacco is cooked — two NFL teams already see that

Flawed logic. Why now?  Groom him for 4 years?   If Wentz is winning and deserving of a new contract the idea is to not pay him, let him walk, and give Hurts 30 million a year, which is what a starting QB will average 5 years from now?  Hurts was drated because Howie made a mistake.  Plenty of time to find and prepare a QB for 5 years from now of that is the plan.

According to igglesblitz he was a 2nd rd value

What team was going to pick him after pick 53?

Okay, what TE is getting drafted at #103?

since Hurts is a tinker toy if we want a backup actual QB Im rolling the dice on Eason or Morgan.

Akeem Davis Gaither next pick? He'd be good value at least

Let's just hope Amik Robertson is there at 103 at this point.

No thanks. We have enough undersized slot corners

Ok so you believe a rookie who has no minicamps or otas is going to look good as a rookie if wentz gets hurt? Cause i rather hope on a cooked Flacco then a rookie with no camps or otas. No offense any way you slice this pick there’s no justifying it for 2020 and having a bigger impact than someone else in the area at a position of need and likely a better prospect.

I'll be hungover and angrier about it.

One thing that is a shame about this wildly unpopular pick is that I think Hurts has super high football character and is a real leader.    I like him as a prospect.

I agree.  He's a good kid, he's got ability.   It just is so far out in left field... in the 2nd round.  Round 4, and there might have been a blip on the radar, but nothing of significance.  But at #53, without another pick until #103.   That might have been the worst part.  If this was a situation where they had 2 2nd rounders, then it would have taken the sting out.  But, Hurts in the second and then nearly 50 picks go by.

And this Goodell crap egging on the fans on the TV.  I am sick of it.  Stop it.

Agreed.   Him or maybe Troy Dye?

I don't know; would have to ask Tommy why he was so crazy as to think Hurts could be on the Eagles draft board with a 2nd rd value

the Eagles pick has made me even more annoyed with this wooden Roger Goodell production I have to watch

If you want a better QB room then fire Press Taylor.  You don't draft players to help your starting QB.  That's what coaches are for.

The draft is for the future.  4 years to develop at $1.15M per season

Nobody.

Eagles could have waited till the 5th round to take him.  But they took him in the 2nd instead.

Howie is a reacher.  It's pretty much been proven now.
