Yannick has been very quiet on Twitter.  And he’s never quiet on Twitter.

He's probably trying to figure out wtf happened here since he wanted to be traded here:lol:

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

The draft is for the future.  4 years to develop at $1.15M per season

And then he gets injured doing some T Hill stuff, that's he's not built for, and we are left holding the bill and Carson has less help in short and long term.

He's a really good kid and no doubt he'll do whatever asked, but this is a luxury pick for a team set at most positions with depth to back it up already.

This whole thing about being a QB factory when they aren't even comfortable enough to have Suds over McCown AND the Thorson disaster shows an arrogance I've never seen.

He also went on to say "they have to make hay with their remaining picks" so he admittedly out them in a corner to fill out the rest.

So more scrambling picks to come.

Berry doing awesome, same with Douglas.

They panicked and are going to do some more trying to make up for it.

I’m not sugar coating anything — I’m living in the real world.

Hurts is a Philadelphia Eagle; Mims and Dobbins are not.

Be a fan and get on board with your new player

I have no problem with hurts like i edited. I actually like hurts. That doesn’t mean i live i a dream world where i just ignore the obvious where we have pissed away draft picks on poor trades due to bad drafting with high picks and didn’t have the luxury to take a backup QB at 53. I can support hurts and still see that as a bad move by the eagles at 53. Unfortunately you are just ignoring the possibility of being upset at the fo and not the player.  Apparently we all have to just brown nose the eagles even if it was a bad decision.

Updating my list of potential picks for 103

OL- Niang, Peart, Cushenberry, Nick Harris

CB- Bryce Hall, Dantzler, Holmes, Robinson

WR- Gabriel Davis, Peoples-Jones

DE- Anae, Weaver, Greenard

LB- Logan Wilson, Davis-Gaither, Dye

S- Burgess

RB- McFarland

Fans on the radio keep on insisting that we drafted a player in the 2nd round that won't see the field for 4 years.  I mean come on folks, let's be realistic, Wentz has been hurt the past 3 seasons...the chances of Hurts seeing the field over the next 4 years is more likely than not.  Not to mention, they will bring him in for gadget type plays, short yardage plays, redzone, etc etc.

I still would have much rather have picked Mims, or a CB/S with 53....but drafting Hurts could end up paying dividends.  I guess we'll see.

I'm in the same boat.  Hurts is a guy that is easy to root for.  But... there's no denying this was out of left field from a fan perspective.  But, Carson and Jalen will handle it the right way.

I'm not going to root against Jalen Hurts the player.  That would be asinine.  I hope Hurts has a great career.  I have no doubt Carson will handle it well.  The narrative is that Press Taylor was really impressed with Hurts.  This narrative bothers me.  He's also made some comment about having multiple players that can throw on the field at once.  I just am worried he's going to focus too much on developing Hurts or working on aspects of the offense that are not to the overall benefit of the team.

Sometimes I think the Eagles do **** like this strictly for attention.

"With the 103rd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select... Jacob Eason, QB, Washington."

I’m trying to figure out how they could screw this pick up. Trade it for Cam Newton? Are there any players named Jalen left? A kicker. Idk, maybe too late to draft a kicker. Any long snappers available? Actually, long snappers play on Sundays. That would add value to the team. Can’t do that.

Andrew Berry having a very analytics based draft.

last i remember nate was injured.  he was set up pretty nicely to be the backup before the injury.

okay, fine nitpick..  he had his rookie contract, and now his extension, so technically yes...  he is on his second contract.  i'm talking about after his current deal is nearing its end.  he will play well enough to ask for even more.  drafting hurts, the birds are saying that by that time..  they will not want to afford that contract.

drafting hurts is not the birds losing faith in carson, it's them saying they know he'll play well enough for them to not want to afford whatever next contract he should be asking for.

Hurts’ contract will be up too.

F*** a QB factory, we want a QB Industrial Complex.

If they didn't blow the Thorsen pick then we wouldn't be in this situation.

Same with Jjaw.

Same with Pumphrey

Bad drafting catches up.

Amik has great ball skills and is fiesty for his size. He will be a nice pick.

I just don’t want another undersized corner. But Schwartz can’t get enough of them so it is possible. I like the player but I think we have a plethora of these players already. Get me a damn linebacker or Duvernay

Nitpicking?  No.  Wentz' new contract JUST starts this year.  Technically, he's still in the rookie window, 5th year option.  But rather than pick up the option directly, they extended his contract 4 years... so he's under contract until 2024.

So, you are saying the succession plan is to let Wentz go, or trade him after 2022, and then move on to Hurts, or do it after 2024 and hope that Hurts has shown enough to turn the keys over to him?

Hmmmm.....

That would almost make it sound like a Kordell Stewart type plan.  But Stewart was a different kind of athlete to Hurts.  He was fast enough to be a legitimate WR weapon.  But... its a thought.

After the interview, I wanted no part of Mims. He thought Philly was bad but N.Y. is going to eat him alive.

Spend money on one not a top 75 pick.

BOB seemed to be yelling at someone and looked pretty miserable. They must have just drafted a good player.
