Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

In the 4th round, you're looking at players who are far more likely to bust than start. So Taylor's floor as a good ST player will matter. His upside is KGH in year 2-3 with reps.
Taylor has no chance of playing well for us early in 2020.

We could legitimately be looking at one starter (Reagor) coming out of this draft for the 2020 season.

Whatever.  Fine pick for 103.  Not mad about it.  Hard to get over my apathy after round 2.

You’re in my head

Edwards isn't fast - he's slow on tape and ran a 4.77 at his pro day. His athleticism is why he's a two down LB.

ok... apparently the joke part was lost on folks.

Drafting a special teamer with a comp 3 is... pretty bad.

a bunch of people had Taylor in their master of the draft picks.

I thought about it but put up some more popular names instead. Didnt think he would be a 3rd rounder.

We've already got 3 fours, 5, 6.

We don't 9 more selections in this God forsaken draft.

Look on the bright side - Taylor might start bc we're so thin at LB. So make that two!

I think Davion Taylor was brought into cover RBs on 3rd down. Barkley, Zeke, McCaffrey, kamara, Cook.

I guess I don't hate this pick.

Respect Tommy but are we supposed to be excited about this:

Edwards is not fast but his football IQ is off the charts.  So is Gerry’s.  We needed a pure WIL and Singleton, a ST ace will back him up.  Riley becomes the jack of all trades back up and Ike Reese playing on third down and long.  Riley is also Gerry tackling insurance in that one too many missed tackles and the positions switch. Nice choice but he is raw.

It’s been a very long Night.

Can say the exact same thing about Hurts.

would be cheaper for the birds to extend hurts at the end of his rookie contract, than wentz after his current one.  howie did NOT draft hurts in the second to let him casually go to another team.

i think wentz will play well enough for the birds to not want to afford another extension for him.

some may say going from wentz to hurts would be crazy, but hurts didn't exactly slouch this past year.  with the time he would be spending behind carson, he could develop well enough to potentially take over...  which is what i think howie and doug are hoping for.  wentz will wentz and maybe play himself out of philly.  could the birds extend him?  sure, but that may eat too much cap for howie to do anything afterwards.  hurts would be a better option especially if he develops.

and hurts wouldn't just be sitting behind wentz.  i think hurts would be a taysom hill type option early, but doug will slowly have him pass more and more..  instead of running on the plays he's put in.

Even a crooked finger points to the right turd once in a while. What the f/ck?

Finally I believe the Eagles need to think hard about investing in one of my favorite players in this draft, QB, Jalen Hurts. WHAAAAT?

Yes, you read me correctly. This is a dynamic player who has won and lead at two of the best college programs in the Country.

He improved as a passer this year at OU, while running for 43 touchdowns in 42 career starts.

He didn't even think about transferring when Tua beat him out. He gutted it out and became a great backup QB, leading the Tide to a comeback win in the 2018 SEC Championship game vs Georgia.
He reminds me of a bigger and stronger Russell Wilson. I might part ways with my No.53 pick in the second round to get him on my team.

He will make the QB room more competitive while grooming a player to be ready if Carson sustains any kind of injury in the next coming years. He also is a player that you might be able to groom, develop, and eventually trade for a much higher pick than the No. 53 pick.
What would Russell Wilson fetch in draft capital on the open market in today's world? Think about it.

What’s even crazier, @eagle45 is that until 30 seconds ago, I was against trading a fourth for Curtis Samuel. But at this point it kinda makes sense.

Maybe then we’d find a decent player or two.

I feel like Hurts at 53 was their plan all along and why they wouldn’t deal 53 to move up. That best part is... I bet they still make that pick if Thorson was still on the roster.

Damn.. we could have drafted 4 more QBs.

I have no problem with the Taylor pick, but 4-3 LB isn't really an "athlete" position.  Instincts are important.  Hitting the wrong gap or taking the wrong angle is a much bigger difference than the athletic difference between 4.4 and 4.7.

Still, his measurables are literally, eerily identical to Patrick Queen, perhaps marginally superior.  It's hard not to be intrigued.

I think our LBs could beat our non Slay/Maddox DBs in a foot race.
