I think that was Jeremy Chinn who would have been a great use of 53

I wanted Gay Jr.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

That argument can be applied to LT. To pass rusher. Too almost any position on the field you value as important. They might not be QB but I’m guessing if your LT gets coronavirus you probably want a good backup as well.

Maybe that’s why we have so many former offensive and defensive coordinators. What if one gets corona’d

The other interesting thing about Taylor is that as raw and inexperienced as he is, he did play a lot of positions — slot, even outside corner a few times, safety and LB. Mel Tucker runs a pro style defense (I read anyway) and used him as a hybrid.

Maybe we got the discount, lump of clay version of Isaiah Simmons.

Really working to wrap my head around the idea they intend to mothball the true LB position the way the league did to fullback.  LB are now viewed by me for this team in the light of "hybrid" tweener S combo who can range and tackle a bit. 7 DB's of varying skill sets with the S position just blending in.

I would assume he had too many injuries for the Eagles’ taste.

Ok, after sleeping on it, while I still HATE the allocation of resources and timing of picking up not only insurance but a project insurance plan, I’m more comfortable with sitting back to see how it plays out.

I liked and for the most part trusted our leadership group before this - and one pick that I clearly don’t understand Their plan for shouldn’t change that until I see their plan in action.

They’ve missed on a number of picks, come now

I don’t think they miscalculated, way too, TOO obvious that something is off

Agreed on all points. Love this from him:

7. I can’t get past the fact that the Eagles could have had their pick of Baylor WR Denzel Mims, Michigan DE Josh Uche, Florida WR Van Jefferson, Iowa DE A.J. Epenesa and LSU CB Kristian Fulton — guys who could have made an immediate impact — and took a quarterback”

I loved Chinn, but at that spot I have to go either Mims or one of the linebackers, Gay or Wilson. What they should have done was trade up for a CB in either Johnson or Diggs. Diggs on the boys is just a crushing blow.

He’s just really really raw but tremendous upside. Talked to the az coach who sent me the text last night. He thinks the kids going to be a stud but it’s going to take him a year or two to get where you envision him as. Like everyone knows his backstory in high school he didn’t to play Nearly at all. And Colorado has made three different coaching changes over the last three years so he’s been in a bunch of different defenses. It’s going to take him a year maybe two to become the player you think he can be But the upside is tremendous if you mold and teach him right

WalterFootball called Hurts "the worst pick of the draft so far" and gave it an "O'Brien Grade." 😂

The value of defensive players at that selection was just too huge to make such a stupid pick

I’m not over it because for the life of me I can’t imagine the team making this move if they believe Wentz will play out his contract

Well, they did.

So we need to get over it and move fwd.  There's alot more to worry about and alot more football to watch well before your "nightmare scenario".

We have, Mills, Parks, and Taylor who can play a variety of positions. There may be some flexibility planned for Ostman and Avery if they are on the team as well.

I dont know what Schwarz has planned, but its already confusing me. Hopefully it will confuse offenses as well.

As long as in that 3 year span they win a SB and Hurts plays a part, even if its small.

The whole goal of the draft is to find guys to help win a SB.  Not pick guys this early, develop them and then flip them 2-3 years later.

If the Eagles win a SB while Hurts is here then I'm good.

I think that’s exactly what the eagles are trying to do: maximize their chances at winning a SB.

The most sure fire way to win a SB is with good QB play. And with Wentz, injury has to be a big part of your thinking at the position.

The eagles don’t know what the future holds. Wentz could play every game injury free for the rest of his career. Or he could continue to miss games with injury. We just don’t know.

So if your goal is to win a SB, and your best chances of winning a SB is to have quality play at the QB position, and your starting QB has been unable to stay injury free, then in theory this move does a lot to maximize your chances at winning a SB.

You can maybe scheme around injuries on the defense, or at OL, or WR. If you don’t have a decent QB, your season is over.

Was it 5 O'Brians or only 4?

I really like Reagor too.  But he's one rookie.  Our offense had a pathetic lack of explosion and help for Wentz last year.  We added one rookie.

Other teams are rabidly pursuing the Chiefs by absolute saturation carpet bombing their offenses with weapons.

We added one rookie.

I'm assuming they'll add another WR today but DeSean will be healthy.  Will he miss games, more than likely.  But you have him and Reagor which is alot of speed.  Ward in the slot.  Hopefully, fingers crossed, JJAW improves and can be at least a nice possession receiver.  Still have Ertz and Goedert.  Still have Sanders and Scott who can both be pass catchers.

The cupboard is definitely not bare unless the injuries hit hard again.

Right. His response was to me talking about a lack of carries now for any potential RB draftee. But I wasnt saying Hurts is going to ever line up at RB. However, he is going to take carries away from them because he will run the ball (from the QB position).

Oh, I could see that... but only in the red zone.  And only to give the defenses something to really say... "WHAT?!" and try to get them running around crazy and take advantage of them being confused about their assignments.

If any NFL player gets the virus I'm guessing they miss 2 games and are back in the lineup.  Overblown thought process anymore.

That scenario could be in effect by 2021.

I like some of the DEs available, but I’d prefer to see a show of confidence in some of the mid-round DE we already have. Hopefully one or more of Sweat, Hall, Avery take steps forward

People say Schwartz doesn’t adjust and he runs the same vanilla scheme every week.

He now has hybrids all over the place. We’ll see how it fits.

The Cowboys drafted another WR who we won't be able to cover and a corner who can probably stick with our WR.

I realize we somehow got a second for Mcnabb (franchise QB who an idiot GM thought he would get a few more top years out of), second for Kolb, and first for Bradford (teams were still in love with his #1 overall status and brief glimpses).

But I just don't understand how some team, 3-4 years from now, is going to give up a second round pick for a QB like Hurts in hopes of handing him the keys to their franchise.

Teams get desperate for QBs. It happens basically every year. As long as Hurts looks competent when he starts, we should be able to get back around equal value. Maybe more if he looks really good.

Lol there was another girlfriend incident caught on camera that the internet is having fun with

These prompted Acho to comment lol

Damn. Russel Wilsons ex looks crazy. Probably thought she hit the lottery lol

I'm trying to forget about the pick and need distractions 🤷‍♂️

I never really thought he would know what to do with 1 let alone a defense full of them. Fingers crossed...

Between trying to trade Dillard and investing in Wentz's replacement, this hasn't been a week for a show of confidence in anyone on the roster.

Are we allowed to spoil today? I’m on my phone but away from the TV...
