If any NFL player gets the virus I'm guessing they miss 2 games and are back in the lineup.  Overblown thought process anymore.

If any player gets the virus they suspend the season.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Missed out on Highsmith and Zuniga.  Highsmith, Zuniga and Robinson were my top 3 DE options.

Fulton is the only one that fits in my opinion.  The others were just names that he saw.

His point is valid, but his names are poorly chosen.

Agreed. I liked Zuniga as well, also Chinn, Fulton and Baun. And Robinson is still on the board. I like him super athletic, shows flashes as a 4-3 pass rusher, room to grow. Could be a rotational guy day 1 in our defense (thinking 2nd or 3rd guy off the bench with current set up)

That is a HUGE point that no one seems to grasp.  Our "good" players are all aging.

The 49ers traded a stud d-tackle and replaced him with a younger, potentially better version in Kinlaw.

The Cowboys didn't bring Cobb back but brought back a guy who is worlds better.  They didn't give Byron Jones $18 million a year, they just drafted a younger version of him with better ball skills.

The Eagles are not re-tooling.  They are not taking players to groom.  Sorry, the linebacker is a ST guy and package linebacker.   Not a starter down the road.

Lane Johnson, Fletcher Cox, Zach Ertz, BG, Slay, Brandon Brooks, Kelce., Malik Jackson are all going to decline at the same time with no one being groomed to take over.  No talent being brought in.

The one player who keeps this team a float is Carson Wentz and what do you....draft his back up in the 2nd round.

Every player you list has a backup except M. Jackson, because he became a back up with the Hargraves signing.   Most of those backups have taken snaps and performed well enough.  Can they be improved? Yes.   Will all succeed, no but many will.  I don’t buy that the Eagles aren’t grooming replacements and depth. Diggs versus Slay, give me Diggs.  Hurts versus Cooper, Allen, McCoy?  I will take Hurts. Not sure I wouldn’t take Hurts over Haskins and Jones.

Taylor is likely not a ST player package LB.   Frankly, I kind of like our LBs. But Taylor is exactly who you take to groom.   He can cover.  He is Gay fast. Good instincts.  Does have to get better getting off blocks but show me a LB that isn’t said about in the latter half of the third round and I will show you a LB that has an injury history.

Between trying to trade Dillard and investing in Wentz's replacement, this hasn't been a week for a show of confidence in anyone on the roster.

Still hopeful a lot of the Dillard was smoke and informal communication. Call it being naive

I think that’s exactly what the eagles are trying to do: maximize their chances at winning a SB.

The most sure fire way to win a SB is with good QB play. And with Wentz, injury has to be a big part of your thinking at the position.

The eagles don’t know what the future holds. Wentz could play every game injury free for the rest of his career. Or he could continue to miss games with injury. We just don’t know.

So if your goal is to win a SB, and your best chances of winning a SB is to have quality play at the QB position, and your starting QB has been unable to stay injury free, then in theory this move does a lot to maximize your chances at winning a SB.

You can maybe scheme around injuries on the defense, or at OL, or WR. If you don’t have a decent QB, your season is over.

No problem with having a quality backup but who's to say Hurts will be that?

He hasn't played a down yet in the NFL.  Even in college he wasnt exactly known for being a great passer.

Only way I can see this working if Carson gets hurt is to put Hurts in a system like the one he ran at Oklahoma.  Play to his strengths.  If they try to make him into Peyton Manning it most likely wont work.

SF get stronger then. Good move for them that. Really good move.

This just in, the Eagles are trading three 4th round picks to Washington....😂😂

Bengals got Logan Wilson and Davis-Gaither — two better LBs than anyone on our roster.

I think we see the 2nd WR, DE, and RB with these 3 4th round picks ....

But they’re all separated right now. If they’re all close on the field, in training facilities, locker rooms, etc this will spread like wildfire and will be a PR nightmare for the NFL if they don’t suspend since the NBA/NHL did mid season.

There’s a chance Trevor Lawrence doesn’t even play next year. With the pandemic and if college football is postponed let’s say until November/December he might just say screw it I’m not gonna risk playing now getting hurt when the draft is closer. There was talk of them having college football next January instead of the fall. If they start college football in December or January I could see a lot of kids who are draft eligible just saying I’m not playing that close to the NFL draft and risking it. They already don’t take that type of risk with bowl games that are four five months before the draft

True, but they have already put out the tape.  They might not feel that confident in their tape from the year before.

Which back-ups are you putting faith in to grow in to legit starters and difference makers to keep the Eagles a Super Bowl contender?

Why, is their back up q.b. available?

Trent Williams traded for a 5th this year and 3rd next year

Joe Staley going to retire?
