And you do realize we have Suds for this year and that high quality vet backups aren't cheap and leave your team without any ability to recoup any developmental capital right?  We can play this game all day.

We have absolutely zero way of knowing if Hurts would have been there by 3 just because no other QB was taken since. None.

I just updated my post with a quote from Albert Breer.  So at the very least trade back 7 spots.  There is no defending it was a poor use of resources.

"I don't know that [the Eagles] had to take Jalen Hurts at 53. I'm told the Ravens weren't taking him at 55, nor were the Pats at 60. How far would he have fallen?”

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

any picks out of left field that will cause controversy?  is there a punter anywhere that a crystal ball sees?

He's listing some names.  Here's some other pieces to consider, and this isn't Saturday morning draftniking either, I've been pretty consistent on this.

His point is valid, but his names are poorly chosen.

Completely agreed.   I would not have taken Hurts at #53.   My choice would have probably been from among...

Denzel Mims

Logan Wilson

Ezra Cleveland

Willie Gay

Jeremy Chinn

Ashtyn Davis

I really hoped the Eagles were going to select one player from that list

Maybe... there's no guarantees.

Aside from being able to trade Hurts for a 2nd or much better in a couple years.  😔

I don’t know man tua was projected as a top five pick last year got hurt this year with a serious hip injury and yet was still a top five pick. I kind of think Lawrence is head and shoulders better than Tua and if he got hurt I still think he would go in the top five

Why wouldn’t our gm move up with the 2 bottom 4s. The talent is gone. What a depressing weekend

Nice.

Tyler Johnson still on the board>?  KJ Hill?

Backup qbs do not break the bank, silly argument, breaks down to we now wasted a high pick on a "weapon" that will hardly play, when we could have added a weapon that plays almost every week

They seemed to like amik robertson but not holding my breath here

I firmly believe this offense will be worse off if Alshon is healthy and in it, at this point in his career.

For weapons we now have a wildcat QB, 2 excellent TE's, a 2nd year RB who projects well as a full time back, one good deep threat (Reagor's early adjustment and Desean's inevitable injuries combine for one) and X and slot WRs that wouldn't scare an SEC defense.

That's probably the worst set of weapons on paper out of any team in the NFL that can claim to have playoff aspirations.

You turned back into Eeyore quick

yeah they are. Also Bryce Hall too if we wanna gamble on that ankle to have an elite CB opposite Slay.

Lot of good drafts I see by other teams.  As you would expect in a deep draft.

this was the emperor has no clothes moment.  Wow, they really don’t have any clue or plan, and are capable of completely undermining the team in ways the worst Tater would struggle to accomplish.

Ladies and gentlemen.... welcome to the decline.

The Chargers drafted a QB in the top 6 and only have one quality OT on the roster (Bulaga). Bulaga has an extensive injury history. With Trent Williams off the board, Jason Peters there makes too much sense at LT as Bulaga is a RT.

Can’t wait to find out how howie screws up today

No idea why Lurie keeps that clown employed

I like hurts. I think he’ll be fine as a back up quarterback.

But you know damn well that midseason when somebody’s in that area where they were picking is going to be tearing it up like DK Metcalf was last year and we’re gonna have 800 posts from people On here about how the Eagles could’ve had that player but decided to go get a back up quarterback who’s not make nearly the impact.

he was never any good except for senior bowl week.

He was the last guy I had on my short list as an outside guy. I guess I’d take Hand but he doesn’t have any speed

By Miami.   I think it was a bad idea to draft him so high.

as well he should have. I'm Eeyoring it myself since that 2nd round pick

Vikings just grabbed one of my fav players left in Wonnum

So who is going to be the first pick today, Frohm or Eason?

Robinson is safe and Id be ok with that.

I could live with a Hall gamble this late though too.

Amik seems like the eagles versatility theme pick of the day. Also another small guy for the defense. Seems the most likely.

My list plus Cleveland.

I've been wanting a S on day 2 forever.  Really hoped Chinn or Davis to be the pick.

Who cares who it was by. He still went. You are telling me next year the jags wouldn’t also be stupid to do it? There’s always bad teams doing it for QBs.
