The Jags keep on drafting athletic players who will struggle in year 1, while trading away their veterans, screams tanking for Lawrence.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

So who is going to be the first pick today, Frohm or Eason?

I mean as a QB Factory we should probably hurry and get both....

I just updated my post with a quote from Albert Breer.  So at the very least trade back 7 spots.  There is no defending it was a poor use of resources.

"I don't know that [the Eagles] had to take Jalen Hurts at 53. I'm told the Ravens weren't taking him at 55, nor were the Pats at 60. How far would he have fallen?”

There are 50 picks between our 2nd and 3rd. That's plenty of space. I agree a trade back would have been great but it takes a partner. I've heard we rejected offers to move back in the 3rd but not sure about the 2nd.

Backup qbs do not break the bank, silly argument, breaks down to we now wasted a high pick on a "weapon" that will hardly play, when we could have added a weapon that plays almost every week

The top ones in the past few years have cost anywhere from 6-9 million. And those are guys like Bridgewater, Taylor, Files and even Chase Fing Daniels. That's not cheap.

Likely we're not persuading one another. So we'll agree to disagree

The over/under betting line was 58.5. So the market thought we took him at the right spot.

Theres no telling who would have traded up for Hurts.

I can understand not liking the player, or the strategy, but I think the "value” was right for a talented QB prospect with starting potential.

Denver loading up on athleticism and speed around Lock.

Thanks, ESPN, for spending 5 minutes on Ben Bartch's smoothie.

What I'd give to have Kevin Costner running the draft

GMs and front offices are pretty good at gathering intel. I trust Howie and Co. there.

Fair enough. I'm fine with criticizing the pick.  I don't really like it either. I just think people are going a bit overboard with what they're arguing about

Take a look at this 2 pics. The confidence jumps off the screen with DK. almost like "ha, try to guard me!! 😈”

With Whiteside it just looks like he’s happy to be here. 🙂

guess which one was high on howies board?

Luries got to get this clown roseman off the payroll asap. Enough is enough

That explains the lack of buzz

The nationals guys are trying to spin this. I’m guessing Howie promised them something extra juicy in future.

meanwhile the local guys are trashing the Eagles.

 You chose a pic of DK playing a game, and a pick of JJ getting drafted. Of course he looks happy to be there.

local people and fans are defensive of Wentz. National people are more inclined to view his injury history more objectively and say yeah the eagles needed a really good backup plan.

The ESPN coverage is awful. They don't announce any picks, just talk boring fluff

Who cares who it was by. He still went. You are telling me next year the jags wouldn’t also be stupid to do it? There’s always bad teams doing it for QBs.

I'm not saying anything.  I'm saying that there's no guarantee that Lawrence is a top 5 pick because a lot can happen between now and then.  There are examples who maintained their status and examples that didn't.   Nothing more, nothing less.

HE said that Lawrence will fall when teams start dissecting his tape.  Someone countered with him being a lock top 5.  I only pushed back on the lock part.  A lot can still happen to change things.

There goes my RB

Lol who cares bro ? So you’re telling me Whiteside displays that type of confidence during games?

I like Amik Robertson or Bryce Hall at 127.  Hopefully one of the two will be there.
