Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Here's the thing on Hurts, I don't think he fits the profile of a starting QB (top 20), but he fits the profile of the guy who can come off the bench and win games.

Watching McCown was painful, Hurts probably beats Seattle just by making "college" plays, a couple long bombs, a couple long runs.

Whereas Sudfeld, Flacco, etc. are going to struggle off the bench. The backup QB doesn't get the reps, so athleticism is a huge plus for a backup, because he's going to struggle against a playoff caliber defense that puts pressure on him. But teams don't game plan for someone like Hurts off the bench.

Over time, a QB with limited QB skills gets exposed, but even Tebow was effective at first and Hurts >> Tebow.

Hurts is smart, careful, has a strong arm, just lacks the mental processing and accuracy of a top 20 QB.

But in a backup role, with an injury prone starter, he can be the "wild card" that gets you through a couple games.

No team in NFL history has tried to fill that niche in round 2.

This guy looks utterly confused... he must have sucked.

That guy looks like he'd rip your head off..

Now... this guy might be thinking about his second career instead of the game.

In fairness he probably would rip your head off

Was painful for McCown too.  Dude tore the hamstring off the bone.

I'm not saying anything.  I'm saying that there's no guarantee that Lawrence is a top 5 pick because a lot can happen between now and then.  There are examples who maintained their status and examples that didn't.   Nothing more, nothing less.

HE said that Lawrence will fall when teams start dissecting his tape.  Someone countered with him being a lock top 5.  I only pushed back on the lock part.  A lot can still happen to change things.

I find it harder to see him fall out of the top 5. There’s a chance anything can happen.

However he’s been considered a better prospect than Tua and tua had a major injury managed to go top 5. Even if he falls out of top 5 you really see him falling out of the first round? Watson his last year at Clemson had more turnovers and faced a ton more scrutiny for his play and yet still went top 15 based on ceiling and talent. He’s not going to have a barkley type fall. Barkley wasn’t nearly the prospect Lawrence or as talented as he’s been since high school til now.

look at dallas ensuring we dont have the guys to cover their WRs.

On the bright side, they only need 1 CB to cover our WRs, so this draft pick was Hurts-like for them when they match up against us.

yeah I was thinking that too. Their last 2 CB picks are complete wastes of draft picks.

DPJ here for Eagles. Then trade up for Amik Robertson or Bryce Hall.

Cowgirls having a hell of a draft Robinson will be a stud

I mean that's what happens when your backup is over 40 years old and hadn't played since week 2 or 3?  a NORMAL aged veteran back up would be fine.  Ugh wake  me up from this

NOOOOOOOOOO

Wish I could say the same about our GM. Just a joke.

McFarland Jr is a fun pick for Pittsburgh.

I must have watched the wrong games.

Still holding out hope for Robinson.

Dallas’ CB was one of the guys I was looking at this am.
