Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

LOL, that’s EXACTLY what I said I’d offer for him, if not Sul.

You called this. Nice job.

Hightower is a good pick at this point in the draft.  He's not a Darius Slayton level late steal like the Giants got last year, but he's pretty promising.

Yup. His contract is guaranteed at 2.95M.

$3.95M base.

my guy!

Meh, he hasn't lined up against any starting OTs yet let alone strip sacked the GOAT to win the Eagles their 1st SB.

Jalen Hurts is the only "bad" pick of this draft so far despite all the whining around here.

I would consider teaching Reagor the X.  He can be a balanced WR.  Let Desean/Goodwin tag team the Z for a year so Howie/Doug/Wentz can see the benefits of having that kind of vertical speed from two positions.  Between the chances of Goodwin figuring it out with a new WR coach and the chances of Desean staying healthy, it might work for a year.

Then next year perhaps we pursue a permanent solution at the Z or get lucky with a few years of Goodwin.

Hightower is the potential future Z.

I like the Hightower pick at this point in the draft.

And on Marquise Goodwin...he is a Torrey Smith, Mike Wallace, Patrick Robinson, etc type veteran flyer.    Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.  It's still smart for the Eagles to take the risk since he didn't really cost them anything more than his base salary for this season.    No lost draft pick or lost comp pick by getting him.    Nothing to lose.

All this speed is about spacing. It makes life on Ertz & Goedert sooo much easier.

Now if Howie can trade Alshon for anything, it's a good off-season.

Or even package Alshon with a 6 for a 7.

Is Hightower on the Todd Pinkston diet?

The fact that it took them this long to figure it out concerns me.

We need speed, we need speed. Trade for Goodwin.

Not that one.  It's just a little funny to watch the goal posts moving.

I’ve liked Goodwin in the past and wanted him last year when he was made available during training camp. However not blind to the fact He hasn’t played more than 11 games in a season over the last two years and only 16 games once in his career. Hard to argue with people being somewhat indifferent on the acquisition considering the fact you have the jeffery, DeSean, Goodwin who consistently missed time every season

He is on the Shelton-Slayton spectrum IMO.

it's not even a bad pick.  you look at the guy's stats and what he did in college, he's a steal at that spot knowing where tua and love went.

it's just (again) the birds didn't do what people wanted them to do.

Looks like it. And he's 24 next month so safe to say that's what he is body wise.

Oh you're right! Also, his salary is not guaranteed correct?

I know nothing about Hightower.  Is he actually someone you all are legitimately excited about?  If so why?

I know listening to kist and Solak kind of compared him to Robby Anderson. I think Robby Anderson was actually taken in the same round as hightower.

I know it's kinda like, "did you like the play Mrs. Lincoln?", but it's only one really questionable pick.

is it something people can complain about?

Well to be fair they had just about the fastest guy ever at WR on the team last year.  Too bad it only lasted for 5 quarters 4 of which were pretty spectacular.

Hightower looks like a very fluid player.

If we get Eno Benjamin next and then Lamar Jackson in the 7th, I'm find with this draft
