Howie has been excellent this entire draft, other than in RD2. Had he just drafted Fulton or Wilson....

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I think it'll be boom or bust really.  We got the customary developmental unexciting OL pick, but other than that we got uber athletes who will either be big contributors or fizzle. It'll be a statement draft for sure, one way or the other.  But still even if I conceded the point on Hurts I wouldn't label any other pick as definitively "bad" really

And there is the difference in how the Eagles draft vs how the Cowboys draft.  The Cowboys draft bonafide studs who excel at their position and bring swagger with it.  The Eagles gamble on positionless players who might project to a certain position.

Anyone want to tell me the value of that? Seems like a loss.

I'd like to see the Eagles trade down again at #173.  Not much, but some.   Get another 6th or early 7th.

Get your guys in the draft versus competing for them as UDFA's with other teams

You got your wish...

Here we see Howie doing 'Howie things'.

A decent relay team.

Could add the linebacker Taylor as a sub in case anyone pulled a hammy.

Go back 23 picks? To gain another late round player? I feel like we should be acquiring more talent, not more players

I’ve liked Goodwin in the past and wanted him last year when he was made available during training camp. However not blind to the fact He hasn’t played more than 11 games in a season over the last two years and only 16 games once in his career. Hard to argue with people being somewhat indifferent on the acquisition considering the fact you have the jeffery, DeSean, Goodwin who consistently missed time every season

Goodwin isn’t a lock for a roster spot. He’s a veteran with some potential to be productive

We will finally have speed at punt return.

This is why I don't like McLane.

Well considering Howie completely sucks at finding talent in the middle rounds and excels in round 7 he can not say see I told you so.  Look who I got us in round 7.

Bet one of those gets moved for next year.

#196, #200, #210 in the 6th, correct?

I absolutely would have been happy with that outcome if you told me that's what they came away with at the WR position back on Wednesday.  Maybe not 100% my ideal... but my ideal was #22 and #25.  🤷‍♂️  Guess that was never a real option.

If Eagles trade Alshon then went from having too much size and not enough speed, to too much speed and not enough size lol

Alright, I have cooled off.

Am I happy?  No.

But the margin between Davis and Wallace and Mims and Hightower is narrow enough that I'm not going to lose my mind over wasting our 2nd round pick.

That’s my hope

At this point in the draft I think there are a ton of players with similar values.

The key this late in the draft isn't the exact point value as much as the fact the Eagles got an extra pick.   This is one more player they don't have to worry competing for in the UDFA market.

Or at least that is my opinion.

too much speed

That is not possible in today's NFL.

Also true. I think it depends on how they renegotiate his contract. I kinda think he’s going to make the team because I don’t think Alshon gonna play next year. If I’m guessing the WR corps is likely desean, reagor, JJAW, Ward, Hightower and Goodwin.

Thing with Hightower, he was especially productive despite not being on the field that much. Hope that translates.

He’s a body catcher though.

There's going to be negatives... that's why he was sitting there at 168.   But, he offers speed and CAN be used as a decoy to create spacing.   Defenses HAVE to respect it.

I value McLane and enjoy his stuff.

But sometimes he is a little too snarky for me, and his tendency to suggest locker room conspiracy theories are a little over the top drama queen for me.
