At this point in the draft I think there are a ton of players with similar values.

The key this late in the draft isn't the exact point value as much as the fact the Eagles got an extra pick.   This is one more player they don't have to worry competing for in the UDFA market.

Or at least that is my opinion.

Perhaps, but I’m legitimately curious. Seems like a big move down for a big move up later. I’m wondering if that’s a wash on the value chart.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

There's going to be negatives... that's why he was sitting there at 168.   But, he offers speed and CAN be used as a decoy to create spacing.   Defenses HAVE to respect it.

Not only that they now have a bunch of guys where they can run stuff like end around and jet sweeps and have way more effectiveness with it as they have so much speed at the position. Last year we really didn’t have that much speed and the only guy they seem to use doing that was agholor and that was few and far between

This is why I don't like McLane.

Fair.

I'm not overwhelmed by any of it but with the exception of Hurts I'm ok and who knows Hurts might be a good NFL player when it is all said and done.  I just don't like him at that spot with this team and our current QB situation.

Also true. I think it depends on how they renegotiate his contract. I kinda think he’s going to make the team because I don’t think Alshon gonna play next year. If I’m guessing the WR corps is likely desean, reagor, JJAW, Ward, Hightower and Goodwin.

Going from no speed to a WR Corp with no player at 4.5 speed or above.

We went from 0 to 60 really fast

I absolutely would have been happy with that outcome if you told me that's what they came away with at the WR position back on Wednesday.  Maybe not 100% my ideal... but my ideal was #22 and #25.  🤷‍♂️  Guess that was never a real option.

I’m happy with it, although when you start to see Hightower slip that far you wonder if he’s just not good.

According to pick value chart the Eagles "won" this 24 to 22

However, the chart only goes to Pick 224 (worth 7 points).   So swapping 233 for 227 probably made this an "Even" trade.

Ertz has to be thrilled with these picks. Opens up a lot of space for him to operate.

And there is the difference in how the Eagles draft vs how the Cowboys draft.  The Cowboys draft bonafide studs who excel at their position and bring swagger with it.  The Eagles gamble on positionless players who might project to a certain position.

Yeah... I'm tired of hearing about how great the Cowboys draft.  Since 1996 they are one of 8 teams to never reach the conference championship game... not even an appearance.

I forget who all the other teams are, but here's a few of them:
Detroit
Cleveland
Cincinnati
Bills
Dolphins

In other words, the ones that people point at and mock constantly.

They more or less traded a 5th for 2 6ths and a 7th

Anyone want to tell me the value of that? Seems like a loss.

It's 3 lottery tickets in place of 2.  That's a win to me.

Wasn't Ward closer to 4.6?

well he is skinny

Any idea what we #’s we have left for picks now?

Hasn't been a bad draft. I get Hurts wasn't everyone's want, but I get it to an extent. The rest of the draft we have added speed and power. Both good things.

For those complaining about Goodwin, put a sock in it. We got him for pennies. He's better than Hollins. He's better than JJaw (though JJaw still has a chance). He's better than Deontay Burnett. He isn't great, but below Jackson, Reagor, Jeffery, Ward and JJaw while competing with Hightower? Solid.

But no, the Eagles drafted Hurts so every move they make is horrible 🙄

Ok, so what picks do we have left now?

Feels like we should have taken New Orleans’ offer in round 3.

4 picks

6th: 196, 200, 210

7th: 233

In most drafts I would agree.   But in this draft so deep at WR, at some point the math suggested that at least some Round 4 type WR's would legitimately fall into Rounds 5 and 6.

I'm not suggesting Hightower is some kind of stud savior.  I'm just saying there are probably previous drafts he would have been selected higher.

Take DPJ, Eno Benjamin, and Lamar Jackson.

And Cowboys with ANOTHER great pick.

I actually would like to see them get quez Watkins and have hightower and him battle it out for the last WR spot on the roster in Tc.
