It's actually a really interesting article. McLane intimates that while Howie makes the final decision, he makes it based off input on voices in the organization, not necessarily his own judgement. And McLane suggests when there are that many voices in the organization pushing for certain players, it's harder to get a consensus.

Whoever that voice with clout was the lobbied for JJAW shouldn’t have clout anymore.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Amik Robertson is such a Schwartz type of guy. I like him but if he’s there at 103 I’d bet money he’s the pick.

I crossed him off my board once they signed NRC. I would have gotten the pick before when they brought him in but now that type of player seems extremely redundant.

I didn't miss anything, change anything, etc.  I just don't agree with your thought process on this and for whatever reason you can't accept that.

You missed it from the beginning.

First, you brought up Campbell being bad last year (without any context, but whatever), and their 2019 seasons never, ever was the point. It was the process of how they picked the player.

Then you talked about hindsight being 2020, which, again, was never the point. It was the process leading up to the draft.

Then you decided to argue about taking the report as gospel, as if we have to post "if it’s true” when discussing the report.

So to be very clear: If the report is true, it was bad process. And that’s been the point from the beginning.

I LOVE Robertson's game. He's a tough scrappy little ****. He has all the makings to become a great slot corner.

His toughness and scrappiness reminds me of Cortland finnegan tbh. We always hear Schwartz views maddox in that way. I don’t know i don’t see it when comparing those two.

Normally I would agree with you. But NRC is only here for a year. And Jim Schwartz really doesn’t care about size on the outside he’ll have a smaller corner play out there as long as he’s scrappy and tough And he likes him. Like maddox shouldn’t be on the outside yet here we are.

I would have guessed Joe Douglas, but why would he go against his own grade?

IF IT’S TRUE.

Jerry Jeudy is worth it at #21, even with bad knees due to the upside. If he hits, we have a potential top 5 WR. At worst, he's a slot WR due to his route-running.

Interesting take.  Jefferson has a very similar breakdown, but half the board would flip if the Eagles took him there.

Seriously...you are spot on with marinades for beef.  Salt and pepper is the key.

Although I will use a rub when smoking a brisket to get a good bark.

I read that and when they compared him to sproles and thought why does that guy have a job. All you had to do was look at him at the combine and know he wasn’t built like sproles at all.

you want to see someone built more closely to sproles look at Boston scott or this class jj Taylor. Both are much more stocky and thick then pumphrey.

Scott is jacked, carries good weight for his size, has real nice speed.   I have been enthused since they picked him from NO.  I remember he was knocked for,his return skills.  I said just wait. I also hope that Sproles is being kept around to teach Scott how to hide on Brooks and Semualo’s butts.

Eagles have done a great job of poaching other teams late round picks.

I forget what podcast I was listening to but they talked about Parrish Campbell and JJaw in what they heard. what they said also was that many inside the eagles war room thought Campbell would wind up being a slot receiver and not on the outside. So maybe Douglas thought JJaw would be on the outside and that’s why he went with JJAW over Campbell.

(gonna go try and find the podcast to back it up. It was in the last 2-3 weeks. I want to say it was ITB)

LMAO, dude, you are wrong. I get exactly what your point is, I just think it's extremely flawed thinking and you are trying to simplify a complex thing. Your inability to accept the fact that I think your logic is faulty has gone from amusing to annoying pretty quickly. Rather than make up BS claims that ''I don't get it'' or that I am ''changing the goal post'' perhaps you should learn to accept that people have differing opinions and thought processes from yours, and know when to agree to disagree and move on. I guess instead you'd rather be a drama queen. All good though homie, do you.

I just don't read McLane anymore.  It's not that I try to avoid negative takes.  All his takes are biased that way.

I remember when Andy had his first conference call with the Philly press as the KC head coach.  Someone asked a difficult question and Andy said "Is that you McLane?"

I liked the Boston Scott pick up when they got in from the Saints. I remember the Saints were super upset that he got poached by the Eagles. He has better vision than i thought he did. He also has enough wiggle to go with his surprising power as a smaller back (height).  To me I think he’s a fine back up and a nice complement to Sanders.

I think they still need another back. I know Adam caplan was on WIP today and he said Clement is not going to be back. Personally I would like to draft one in rounds 4, 5 or 6 and also signed a veteran to go with Scott and Sanders. Like i have no issues if you get Freeman to come here ok a one year 1-2 mil deal to be in the rotation. He’s solid pass pro and he can help in pass game and give you 3-5 carries if need be. Also help in mentoring Scott and sanders.

To be clear, you believe that it’s perfectly acceptable that a team, while on the clock, debates which WR to take and then decide to take the lower rated player? That it shouldn’t have been debated prior to that moment? Is that your differing opinion and thought process?

Winner winner chicken dinner. McLane has had an axe to grind with the Eagles organization for a long time for god knows why. Not taking anything he says with a gigantic grain of salt is unwise.

I haven’t tried smoking yet but would do the same. Bark is key, I know that much. When it comes to steaks I just rub some olive oil on it, load up the salt and then some cracked pepper. Either grilled or high heat sear and finish in the oven. If I want to feel fancy I’ll do some basting with garlic butter but don’t remember the last time I marinaded beef

We could use a couple fights around here to grease the tracks for draft night.  Let’s be serious; sober pleasantries during the new board’s honeymoon are no way to go through a draft.  😂

Don’t worry, I’m changing my avatar to Justin Jefferson as soon as he’s announced as the Eagles pick — unless it’s actually Kenneth Murray 😂

While Campbell had a poor rookie year, most of it was injury related.

I have always argued that they do not value speed because they don’t invest in it.  The fact that they drafted JJAW instead of a burner Z wr who they literally had higher on their board speaks to how they value different assets in their offense.

I hope it was Douglas.  I was never a fan of his impacts on the drafts.  I hope it wasn’t the coaching staff that pushed the scouts for JJAW.

You think people would be mad if they took jefferson. Imagine if they went really outside of the usual suspects and went like shenault at 21. People lose their minds. I love shenault but it would be like when they selected Marcus smith With people’s reactions.

We’ll never know for sure, but I bet leaks will pop up if JJAW ends up a bust.

I’ve already talked myself into every possible WR at 21. I’ll be anywhere from fine to ecstatic.

I would love the pick — but I think the only way Shenault becomes an Eagle is if they go non-WR in Round 1 and jump back in to grab him early Round 2

Pretty doubtful
