Far be it from me to ever agree with ESP.  But he’s not far off.  What really amazes me is the amount of posters in here convincing themselves that the Eagles have done a good job outside the Hurts pick.   People need to be honest with themselves.  Howie sucks at this.  He’s sucked at this.  And this year is his suckiest effort yet.

They picked a bunch of guys we’ve discussed and liked prior to the draft.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

People like him were complaining the Eagles weren't quick enough and now he has moved the goal posts as they have addressed that. What more could they do in one draft?

Not the ex- Sixer, so I'll work with it.

I am deeply, deeply pleased with the sudden commitment to speed.

Allow me to gloat just once, after the abuse I took about harping on this for the last 5+ years.  My biggest complaint, to beat the horse for one last time, is that we were late to this party over the years and missed many opportunities.

Our offense now has olympic speed for NFL track meets.  It's not perfect.  Some of that speed is old and injury prone (Jackson, Goodwin).  Some of if may or may not translate to football (Goodwin, Hightower).  But now, this offense has spacing.  It has guys that can run.  And if it works in 2020, I think/hope that we'll never be caught without it in spades again.

That's great stuff.  It really is what Howie is best at.  146 is hardly a guaranteed spot.  Future pick, and 3 more lottery tickets for today.

Seems very much like a ST add, which I'm fine with. Also someone you'd want in camp with his work ethic

The idea of all this speed is to get defenses to play less man coverage against us. This will let Carson read the defense and make plays with good protection.

Goodwin has translated his speed to football any time he has opportunities and is healthy on the field. Look back to 2017 the season that led to his extension to SF. Bunch of nice games there. He was having a break out year. But then he has missed a ton of games in the 2 seasons since.  Hes a good player and would be a hell of a slot here. You just cant trust his health. You have to have a really nice option on the practice squad ready to come up when he gets injured and you know he will.

Meh on the Bradley pick.  Like the player, not sure about the fit, but whatever.

Which one do you use?  I kind of avoid during the draft but utilize during the UDFA period. Looks like we will be looking for at least ten UDFAs this year.  With no phase two tryouts likely I don’t see any pickups during post draft camps if they have them.

So I guess they're truly cool with Maddox starting opposite Slay, huh?

I remember weeks ago someone made a mock draft that had like 13 draft selections and a lot of people laughed at that. It’s starting to feel like that happening.

Someone is onboard with the pick
