From Zeurlein.

Strengths
  • Just one fumble in over 400-plus career carries
  • His top-end speed is rather serious
  • Missed run fits and tackle angles turn into long touchdowns
  • Never had a season without a touchdown of at least 71 yards
  • Burst into the hole is instant when he hits it
  • Plenty of gadget play potential from slot or off-set
  • Able to burn it around the corner for future NFL jet sweeps
  • Can make explosive plays as pass-catcher

You all know how I feel about ball security, especially from backup RBs.   That's the kind of player you absolutely take a chance on with a UDFA signing bonus!

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Speaking of Don, he signed off after the draft.  Hope he gets lonely and visits here.  He is a rather recent arrival to the Blog but a great poster.  Like having a friend move away.

They did have a good draft, they have been drafting well for several years and still blow.  As for merit, a draft is truly not merit based, but hope based.

We'll certainly find out this upcoming season if they do indeed still blow, if there is a season. We've been basically trading the NFC East title back and forth for the last 5 years with them. We'll see if we can break that trend next season.

Makes me love that signing even more

I thought about watching it but just gonna check out the highlights. Still mad about the 2nd rounder

Howie's offseason motto...."Can he run?  Is he healthy?  Does he love to play?"

I sure hope so.  And they always blow, much more when they don't!  I think their lines are only OK and their corners in the same boat.  Not that the Eagles can brag about their corners, but the Eagles do have the best of the bunch this year in Slay.

Nice one!

That's a great signing.  Wouldn't have been sad at all to see them draft him.

Please no

They are talking about the rookie

Howie...wanted to make sure the coaches have incredible athletes to scheme with.

This organization does need more Bearcats!!!

Doug Pederson with positive words for Greg Ward.  Sounds like he's a part of the future plan.

Yes!   I am so glad Howie listens to me occasionally.  I would have spent a fifth for him. More compact than Corey and really a bull but I do wish he pass protected like Corey.  I think he can learn. Nice hands.

Doug...with the addition of speed and new coaches/ideas, yes...the offense will look different.

I have a suspicion that with Hurts and all the speed, Doug has some kind of mad scientist scheme in his head.

He looks at Taysom Hill in NO and thinks, "What if we do this stuff with a better QB/Athlete?"

He's been cooped up by himself for too long...

That said... as angry as I was about Hurts... I am very intrigued by what nut brained schemes he's got cooking...

I think Roger Goodell should be announcing UDFA signings from his bath tub

Howie, regarding WRs, looks at a healthy DeSean and Alshon as "additions" at WR.  Lauds Goodwin's speed.  Didn't plan to pick both Hightower and Watkins.

Howie..."Does he love to play?" is a core value.  Didn't just want guys who happen to be fast.

Reagor/Jefferson
Mims/Fulton

Lamb/Nothing

Plus the rest of our haul and I've have been pretty stoked about our draft class. We've been pretty good with our 2nd rounders, a [seemingly] solid day 3 just can't take the sting away from that. We have a ton of needs and that one will sicken me for years unless Wentz gets unfortunately hurt and Hurts turns into the next Russell Wilson or something.
