It was not.

Trading up for Jordan Love in RD1 >>> Jalen Hurts in RD2.

And then adding zero WRs.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

He’s my favorite pick from the entire draft from value standpoint and fit. I thought someone would fall in love with his versatility and ability to cover and take him before he got to the eagles at 127. I thought he’d go 3rd to early 4th. I think he’s your starter in 2021 and competing for 3rd safety this year. Every mock i Did i took him

Yup. Love the pick. He’s a good bet to become a solid player. While I love Hightower and Watkins, they have a lot of variance, and most of the projected outcomes are on the meh side. But with where they were taken, I’m more than happy to take the chance.

I don’t really see any reaches early.

Some will say Reagor I guess, but to me he was a top 25 pick all the way. The idea that he would drop to the 2nd was wishful thinking.

Hurts is a QB. An extremely athletic QB. Those guys get drafted early. The betting markets put the O/U at 58.5. He went right where he should have. People can hate the player or strategy, but the pick was made right where it should have been.

Taylor? He was the 104th pick. With his athleticism, I’m not sure how at that point he could be considered a reach.

This...X10.  Well said.

He’s intriguing. Not your typical LB prospect. Another boom or bust pick in terms of being a defensive contributor.

That’s how i feel with Hightower and Watkins. Love where we got them and hopefully one of them sticks. Wallace i think is going to get playing time as a third safety and contribute and with good development could be the starter down the road. Don’t need him to be that this year (hopefully)

Maybe Dillard was really on the block. That’s been one of his knocks

Makes the Prince pick more interesting...

Reagor, Jackson and Goodwin on the field together...look out.  I think Quez Watkins, as of today looks like a better fit than Hightower.  I really like Greg Ward mixed in with all of this speed.  He's no slouch himself but you get those guys with wheels opening the field up and let Ward scoot around underneath.  Dangerous things could happen.  I know there are mixed feelings on Ward but I think he 100% earned his spot last year.  I'm excited to see what he can do.

I like the intangibles that Bradley brings at linebacker.  Is TJ Edwards a lock to make this team?

Oh for the sake of us all, grow up.   Same thing over and over.  Nothing in depth whatsoever.   Your 💩 is beginning to stink.  The reasoning behind the Hurts pick is pretty obvious.

Lol "my crap” the Eagles got absolutely torn to shreds last night by almost everyone in the local media and on this board, but yeah, it’s "my crap”

you grow up, dude. If you can’t handle one person’s take on it, then that’s your problem. I don’t like what they did in the draft. That’s my right to feel that way. Good for you if you like the hurts pick. You’re in the minority.

I’m of the opposite mindset there...

I get what you mean. My statement reads like that for brevity. Posting from my phone right now haha.

I'm glad we got them both.  Howie said he didn't expect to draft both of them which makes sense...both are similar receivers.  I've been super high on Watkins and I like Hightower.  The high value trades afforded us the luxury of taking a closer look at both of these guys.  What's not to love about that scenario?

I am tempted to scroll back through to call out the many who wanted to fire Howie, who wrent their garments, and cried out in despair. What a bunch of hysterics! I won’t of course, mostly because I am too lazy but y’awl should be ashamed of yourselves.

Good night.

Some (read me) suffer from temporary insanity... others are far less hopeless.  Stick around and you'll see who they are.

If the WIP crowd hates this pick I feel better already.

Taylor covers better than Davis-Gaither.

I can’t disagree there.

Um... you really don't understand the medium, do you?

Not necessarily. We have to remember Lane has gotten injured over the last few years and he and kelce are the ‘old men’ in the OL room.

I hated that pick last night. Still think it could have went to a better area of need.

The rest of the draft wasn't bad. The LB picks are certainly suspect considering how feeble we are at the position already.

I can't complain too much as they did end up drafting 3 WRs as I had hoped.

Their "reasoning" behind the pick and the whole "QB factory" thing is what set me off even more. 😅

This entire board was full last night of basically everyone ripping the pick to shreds, so those are the people you’re referring to. The posts are all still in this thread if you want to go back and look at them. That isn’t the "wip crowd” it’s the majority of this forum.

And every single one of the people who disliked it gave insightful, rational, and intelligent reasons as to why.

if you can’t handle cynical opinions that says more about you than it does the people who have them.

We really had no swing tackle on the roster either. I don’t count Mailata yet.

Absolutely agree with the first paragraph.  T J Edwards is a likely starter.  The combine cannot measure football IQ/instincts but if they could his would be a level of spiderchart future picks would be measured against. If only Bradley had 80% of that.

Meh, I guess I don't.  WIP was my alarm clock station every morning when I would wake up...all through high school....so I still have a soft spot for Philly Sports radio....that was 25 years ago.....I've since moved to Florida and I only listen to Philly sports radio online from time to time now....so that's, that.
